Harden is big time choker in playoffs... please don't lower greatness of Hakeem comparing him to this choker.
I don't disagree, but without the Sonics it certainly made it easier avoiding them. I'm a houston fan (obviously) and couldn't stand the Sonics.
Hakeem had a terrible supporting cast after the drug suspensions and injuries of the 80s. And yet he was the best defender in the league and put up excellent offensive stats which improved in the playoffs. I don't remember him getting gassed to the point he was walking around throwing lazy passes. Once they got Rudy t and a good supporting cast they were contending consistently. And they never really gave him a ton of help until they got Barkley, but they were all past their primes at that point. Despite all that still got two rings.
Man Kobe would of tore Harden a new one . In what way is he better than Kobe? Harden chokes in the playoffs while Kobe led his teams to titles. Hate Kobe btw.
Has Kardashian curse to do anything with harden's failures and choking? Wasn't he dating one of the Kardashians when his infamous choking started in Game 6 against Kawhi less Spurs?
These dudes just don’t get it. Dream was getting killed by the papers back then! I love how they claim Harden has no killer instinct lmao! Look at Westbrook and see how far that’s got him.
I guarantee that no one today would be talking about Hakeem's "heart" and "killer instinct" if they personally witnessed him blow big leads (one in the 4th!) in both home games.
Lmao! Another ignorant fool. See 2006 game 7 against the Suns. Dude literally quit to prove a point. No player is without fault they just won rings and now you have selective memory.
WTF does that have to do with his on the court play in the playoffs? Overcome your ignorance by getting out your emotions homeboy.
Now isn't it interesting someone thinks Harden would have destroyed Kobe when right now today he could not lead his team past a Stephen Curry led Warriors team with no Durant. When Durant was out there he was dominate. I understand Harden still has years ahead to prove himself but he has to win it as the alpha on this team. Hakeem did it and outplayed the best players in his era at his position. Hakeem saw another man get crowned MVP in he western conference finals and Hakeem destroyed him. What did Harden do to the man they crowned MVP when he played him in the western conference finals? Exactly set a playoff record for turning over the damn ball.
Kobe was a chucker, but in a way, you're correct. Dude had the killer mentality necessary and he just hated, hated to lose. I always maintained that if McGrady had Kobe's mentality and toughness, he would have been even better than the black manba.
Rockets were robbed vs the sonics in 93 for those that don't remember or even care lol. 1st off they were robbed in the regular season out of homecourt when the refs allowed a shot at the buzzer by the spurs to tie the game and the rocks lost in ot https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/199304250SAS.html Then the rocks were robbed in gm 7 at sea in 93 by some shady refs. This notion the rocks could not get past the sea is clearly bogus. maybe they could not get past the refs? yea they lost in 87 and 89 to sea but complete different rosters on both sides.
never was and never will be, I would take robert reid over harden any day. Are we talking all time rockets here? no way beard gets no 2 when its all said and done.
I really hate pitting Rockets legends against each other. I guess this is to expected after another horrid defeat. That said, anyone who is trying to knock Dream down a notch in defense of Harden is out of their mind. Dream was the best at his position on both ends of the court for the bulk of his career. When Dream lost, it was never due to a lack of effort or heart. He ALWAYS gave his best effort even in defeat. And he always demanded the ball in crunch time. Trying to tear down Dream seems desperate. James is fantastic but there are levels to this. Dream is just in a different stratosphere.
