Harden trade: - Rockets could of had Simmons + Thybulle + at least 2 FRP and likely more. - Rockets could of had LeVert +JA + Prince + 3 FRP. But NOOOOOOOOPE!!!!!! Stone & Silas preferred Dipo + Kurucs + Exum instead. Or what it ends up being: Exum + Bradley + Olynyk F'ING hilarious.
Why pay 17.5 million a year when that move doesn't get you over the hump. Have you seen him play? He's a glorified And1 player, he's a 6th man essentially and we have EG...
How did Woj allow himself to get used so badly reporting that a mid-1st was out there for Dipo when his true value was a half eaten Subway sandwich on the ground of a strip mall parking lot?
If I'm Stone, I nix the post-deadline presser and sleep in my office for the next couple of weeks so no one will see me.
Is it though? And what if that falls through and we draft a Darko or Jonny Flynn (AKA a bust)? Personally I like Mobley
I'm sorry, but the level of insanity on this board is out of hand. LeVert is getting paid $16-18 million for this and next 2 seasons. On a championship, he is at best a sometimes 3rd option? Maybe the 6th man? If the Rockets are out-right rebuilding with a soon-to-be drafted core, he serves no purpose and would also have minimal trade value until maybe 2022. J. Allen may had some trade value for the right team. But there is also a limited list of teams in today's NBA willing to trade and give big money for a center without a 3-pt shot no matter how good he is at times. The Rockets gambled that Dipo may have still had something left in the tank after the injury and garner a good haul at the trade deadline. Obviously, It didn't work out, but I don't fault them for going for broke. The other option was not going to move the needle anyways.
The Jarrett Allen thing is completely overblown. We got a 2022 unprotected pick, and then leveraged that into a 2023 unprotected pick. But it is completely fair to criticize Stone over the Levert deal now.
I've never met a GM who picks swaps this many times. Why can't we just have that team's 1st?! The more 1st, the better you can move up in the draft. We all know Tilman's cheap ass won't spend on 2 first rounders. I am sure the deal went like this. Stone: Hey Tilman, we are getting Olynk, Bradley and a swap pick. None of these players will be here and the pick swap is decent. Tilman: So we are getting back a guy from Texas and one of the Hanson brothers? Pull the trigger now.
This is true. Levert is overpaid for his skill level. He's older than wood and a finished product. He's also a PG and would have been a bad fit with KPJ.
