It's really funny that their teams' downfall all started with the words:

"Thunder signs Kendrick Perkins to an extension"

It's a newspaper headline! Big deal.

Folks in such an outrage that KD got called out. So what? As that other thread said, Durant gets this pass that LeBron doesn't and never got. Stop the bull**** about LeBron having a "decision", having a tattoo on his back, or whatever other bull****. Durant is about to win the MVP. Some of you folks probably said at one point Durant has surpassed LeBron as the best player. So he's the MVP, best player yet we gotta be careful about calling him out, putting out an "offending" newspaper headline, and will continue to give him a pass.

    Stop it already.

Then the newspaper decided to issue an apology? LOL seriously?

Cool, we'll just continue to blame Westbrook and everyone else.

I feel sorry for KD honestly. It's not KD's fault.

Talk about some swift damage control.

Is that what it's come down to? They're worried about losing him (in 2 years or whenever) that they must apologize for the headline and put up billboards?

    LOL hilariously sad.

Next you'll tell me they'll pull a Daryl Morey and have fans e-mail Sam Presti, who will show them to Durant.

Meeting in a few with Durant! Send a note to him now at thunderfansloveDurant@gmail.com. He will receive. Show him how much we want him in blue!

Man hush. You and all the others trying to equate this with LeBron not getting a pass.
    1. LeBron was the best player to come out of High School into the NBA since Kobe did it. LBJ also showed that he was possibly a once in a generation type of player the minute he stepped on the HS court and the minute he played his first NBA game. Of course there was significantly more pressure on LeBron than on Durant. Of course there was significantly more expectations and media highs and lows than with Durant. That's what happens when one turns professional and raises the bar so high that the media and fans then look for any missteps to bring said player down.

    2. The reason this is a big deal is because it is similar to the backlash LeBron received from the Cleveland media(as well national) after the Celtics series prior to him leaving Cleveland. It's one thing to have the national media go after a player. When it's the hometown paper that's a different story.

Exactly. He's the #1 problem with the Thunder and has been for years.

If OKC loses this series to Memphis, I think there's a good possibility that Scottie is shown the door. He's a good guy with a good attitude, but he just ain't head coaching material.

We need to get Chron to post a similar article for Harden.

Durant: 18 pts in first half on 7/13 shots.

OKC is very lucky to have durant. It will be interesting to see how many fans they have left once he is gone. I doubt their bandwagon fans will be so great.

The editor should be fired? Creating attention is the best thing you can do in media. He will get a raise as long as they didn't get sued.
