Can anyone explain why Westbrook didn't get three free throws at the end? Suns were gonna foul, he realized it and started into his shooting motion as he was fouled..
According to the refs, he fouled him before the shot. They were in the penalty. Standard two-shot foul. It was a bad call but that was the ruling. Alvin Gentry is smart and believes in fouling before the other team can get up a shot when ahead by 3 points. Dragic was stupid but the refs bailed him out.
As a big Thunder fan, I was absolutely disgusted and frustrated by tonight's ending. Horrible referring combined with some bad decision making by Scott Brooks. The refs really blow some calls near the end there. They anticipated calls before they happend, which is bad referring.
This was one of those games where the players just didn't have focus and energy on offense the entire game. IMO, the Thunder were lucky to be close at the end. Phoenix brought their "A" game from the start. It was like the trade brought them some clarity and relief. The spurts of lockdown defense from the Thunder were good to see, just because it shows that still have it. But KD and Westbrook were very careless and often lackadaisical on offense. They still have a lot of maturing to do.
Westbrook should have got 3 free throws. b/c refs allow continuation on and 1's, so why does it change in the last seconds Game would have totally changed there was bad refereeing at the end of the game
watching that live and in replay, it looked like 3 freethrows without a doubt. nba refs are truly incompetent.
