One thing is their best player doesn't get taken out of the game easily. Secondly, they have multiple scoring threats and are a far more athletic team. Athleticism is a good thing when you also play good basketball like the Blazers usually do. They have the athleticism in their frontcourt to limit Okur's effectiveness and the overall athleticism to negate the athleticism of other players like Kirilenko and Brewer. When Oden is playing well, that just adds another dimension. The Blazers also have the depth to match (possibly surpass) the Jazz' depth.
We almost had Roy. Lost him because of one man's ego and short sightedness. That one's gonna hurt for a long time.
Hardly. If New Orleans beats Sacramento, Utah will be in 7th place and 2 games out of 8th. Not the best place to be if you're trying to draw the Rockets.
The Jazz are just crap on the road. The Blazers have had similar results to us. 2 wins at home. 2 losses in Utah.
Loved that. Kirilenko tried to flop and instead he ends up lying on his back watching Aldridge slam it!
Utah saw the Rockets in 2nd temporarily at halftime so said "OK guys, lets tank it and stay with the Rockets." Not really, they just REALLLY suck on the road. The only reason they hang around with us is because they are literally the blueprint on how you beat a team with Yao.
who would that be? Roy was drafted one spot before us. We drafted Gay. If Roy was still on the table we would have drafted and KEPT him.
I'm hoping the Jazz's lackluster performance tonight carries over to their game vs Minnesota tomorrow night.
Life is good for the Blazers tonight: 1 Aldridge absolutely shredded Boozer and Kirilenko. It didn't matter who the Jazz guarded him with. (I'm sure Tyrus Thomas would have done almost as well ). NOT! 2 Roy completely owned Ronnie Brewer, who has no chance at all of guarding him. 3 Batum will give nightmares to Korver and Kirilenko for several days. Neither guy could score get a decent shot off because of Batum's length and speed.
