The Hornets winning wasn't necessarily a bad thing and possibly a good thing. Let's see the standings at the end of the season and remember this Hornets win. It could end up helping us. It would have been nice for Kings fans to get a win on Vlade's night. Nocioni for the fail.
Exactly what I was thinking ! If anything we want home court advantage ! Screw the Jazz I want to play them and finally beat them why is everyone so scared of them ? They have a horrible road record and we split the season series with them. The Rockets just need to win starting tomorrow night they control their own destiny .......
In general you want all play-off teams to lose unless they are playing other play-off teams. Then you want the team nearest you to lose. That way, if the Rockets slip up against a team they should beat, they have that cushion. Man, this Spurs loss opens up a slightly larger possibility of this seeding: 1. Lakers 2. Nuggets 3. Rockets 4. Spurs 5. Blazers 6. Hornets 7. Jazz 8. Mavs. Road to the conference finals thru New Orleans and Denver.
The Hornets play a couple of elementary schools their next couple of games and they are now only 1 1/2 back of the Roxs and Spurs This game gave them confidence and they could move up this week......
The Kings are the worst team in the west. Although they are currently playing harder than the Clippers.
Lol ...this will change by the end of the week... New Orleans has a easy schedule coming up...have u checked ours? we have 1 guaranteed game in the next 4 and thats the loss in l.a to the lakers.. every other game is up in the air
Yeah and the Clips only have like 6 players who suit up with injuries. They also play the Warriors who now have their star player out for the season thats why I wanted this loss....Oh Well I get mad enough when then Rockets lose so I'm not gonna sweat this one..........
Yep exactly. That's how I see it. We all expected NOH to beat the Kings tonight, Kings are playing spoilers and handing out cushions for the rest of the season. That's why I said this would have been a free win over the Hornets. Any time a EC team is playing one of the WC teams you root for the East. Anytime a eliminated team is playing a WC playoff team, those are bonus wins in a race this close. I'm not even thinking about the Jazz here, homecourt comes first and those other teams are still close to us. But the results are as expected so can't be disappoited about it at all.
@Clippers @GSW Those are the only two games, it's not that easy. Not easy at all. Not many teams have a easy schedule and Utah has the hardest IMO because of their situation (road games against playoff teams)
But have you looked at the rest of their schedule? Utah @Miami Phoenix @Dallas Dallas @Houston @San Antonio I'd only favor them in the 3 home games. Very possible they finish up 5-4 or worse which means the Rockets only have to go 3-5 to tie them and send it to a tiebreak or 4-4 to win outright. 4 wins shouldn't be a problem. And I think the Rockts will finish better than that.
One thing's for sure. I dont think anyone will have anything locked up, even heading into that last day of the season. I dont think anyone but the Lakers and maybe the Mavs will be able to "rest up" for the play-offs.
I think they take one of those 2. Its also possible they drop a game at home. 6-3 or 5-4 for the Hornets seems most likely.
Portland has a better chance of overtaking the Rockets than the Hornets. If you want to worry about a team, worry about them.
that's true. and some say the blazers will be a good matchup for us if we play them in the first round, which i've disagreed from the beginning. my basic stands is no need to fear anyone. but if we have the choice (which we don't), denver and new orleands will be our best chance for the 1st round.
I very much doubt they win in Miami and if the Mavs are within striking distance of (or are already in) 7th place, it will be tough for the Hornets there too. I don't expect Peja and Chandler to be at their best when they return. It's going on a month now, and I think we need to consider Peja's back may hamper him the remainder of the season. One thing we know for sure about the guy: He does NOT play well with pain or discomfort. If he comes back and gives them a bunch of 3/9 and 3/12 games, he actually hurts their team. Chandler has been a dog most of the season, but at least he's their best option at center. They miss him. If he doesn't return until the last couple of regular season games, the Hornets will be in trouble.
in LA, everybody is talking about shutting down Kobe for the rest of the season and concede homecourt to the Eastern teams should they meet in the Finals. but KObe and the Lakers are not playing inspired ball right now, so they better hedge their bets and get ready for the postseason before someone blows by them unexpectedly. that game against LA is hardly a guaranteed loss
