no this is the proof of our strenght we beat them so strong and 2 in a row and that happens rare.... that they got strongly demoralized as a result... we owned them and ruined the entire season so they lost by a lot just to make our ws look insignificant as a revenge
Or maybe he'll forget all about the sucking they did once they start dominating. When players sign a contract, they are forward looking not backward looking. They look at the future prospects of the team they are signing with and not what happened when he was still under contract.
Pacers never won anything either and they been trying to be competitive since forever. Spurs tanked to get Duncan and Rox tanked to get Hakeem. How did that work out for them?
But it did; tanking got them three All-Star level players (well 4 if you count Ibaka) that led the team to the Finals. The fact that they weren't given an opportunity to try and get back to the Finals is not on the players. That's on ownership and front office 100%
oh look that and that person won 3 mil in the loterry...lets sell our house and play the lottery...well THE LOTTERY AS WELL AS TANKING DOESN'T WORK lol there is no guarantees in life....pacers would have never won anything even if they tanked just like tons of other teams that do tank... OTH its not enough that you try be competitive you must be smart about it...its not enough just not to tank you need to know how to draft and develop, how to chemistry etc and pacers clearly dont know that...and it really doesnt matter they had a lot of fun in the process of trying to anyway.... as per tanking working for rockets and spurs see how pathetic they both look now... yes they have won a cuople by being extremely lucky at draft but they could have won a lot more if they didnt (and not sucked 20 years straight afterwards) if they actually dared to learn and master the art of draft and development (and trades)
a lot of assumptions there.... a lot of ifs an buts....subjectivity...its sounds good but its debatable and i wouldn't go there right now in depth.... it is not on players , the ownership is to blame? non of these players is really that good as we have seen in the rest of their careers and needed unimaginably stacked rosters to win it all, and even then they would fail as seen by last years nets failure... they did have the ownership still failed spectacularly.... it dont mean a thing if you aint got that ring...what if etc it worked for miami not to tank and nevermind get to finals... besides TANKING IS CHEATING, you may as well go and bribe the refs it would be a more legit ring... now bribing the refs WORKS 100% .....it doesnt mean you should do it for gods sake its sport, learn to enjoy the process, the work ethic, fighting the odds... theres a beauty in fighting against the odds......learn how to draft , how to develop, how to improve....this is SPORT AND ITS BEAUTY...teams act like sore losers and if they arent stacked they wont even play and compete....lolololololol so according to tankers there would be no nba because 27 teams needs to tank to improve or get that last piece and only what 2, 3 teams that could 'realistically' win should compete to see who will win it all? lolololololololol TANKING IS A BLASPHEMY AND IT DOESNT EVEN WORK
Time to pull out the list again: Best player in each draft of the last 20 years by Win Shares, with draft position: 2021: Evan Mobley (#3) 2020: LaMelo Ball (#3) 2019: Zion Williamson (#1) 2018: Luka Doncic (#3) 2017: Bam Adabayeo (#14), Tatum isn't far behind. 2016: Domantas Sabonis (#11), Simmions would be ahead if he played this year. 2015: Karl Anthony-Towns (#1) 2014: Nikola Jokic (#41) 2013: Giannis Antetokounmpo (#15), actually Rudy Gobert, but Giannis will surpass him this year. 2012: Damian Lillard (#6), Anthony Davis a close second, will pass him up this year or the next. 2011: Jimmy Butler (#30) 2010: Paul George (#10) 2009: James Harden (#3) 2008: Russell Westbrook (#4) 2007: Kevin Durant (#2) 2006: LaMarcus Alderadge (#2) 2005: Chris Paul (#4) 2004: Dwight Howard (#1) 2003: LeBron James (#1) 2002: Amar'e Stoudemire (#9) 2001: Pau Gasol (#2) 11 of 20 are top 3. Might be 14 of 20 of this list by 2030.
Thank goodness Jalen's injury isn't serious. So he'll be back soon and they'll be right back to racking up those Ls.
Who says you cant have development and trades while you are tanking? Spurs are a good example are you tryin to say the Spurs dont know how to develop players and make trades? They are poster child for development and savvy trades duh. The reason they suck now is cuz they held onto Derozan and tried to be winners when they should have bottomed out and tanked. Instead of sucking for draft picks they kept derozan and lma for way too long even if they will just be 1st round participants year after year. Now you are saying they are pathetic when the reason they are pathetic is they tried to be competitive for 0 reason. It is the mediocrity treadmill at work when you too scared to bottom out and would rather be mediocre forever than take a chance to be great later on. Winning via lottery only has a low % of success. But winning via the mediocrity treadmill has 0% chance of success. Low % vs 0% the choice is clear.
