Most GM's are delusional. And most coaches around the league see Carr for who he is. Alot of teams would love to upgrade at QB and a couple teams don't have a viable QB. So think about it- Carr or Stanton, Kolb, etc. Carr does have the potential to make a fresh start and succeed somewhere else. I believe that and I think some NFL coaches feel that way. Every optimist GM out there probably thinks Carr could become solid with the right situation. I don't think it is far fetched at all. And a 4th or 5th round pick is where the market should be. The Texans should jump on any offer at this point. Or else clean house of all the players who are sick of Carr. I think Andre Johnson has had enough.
Yeah, I agree that most GM's are delusional. That's why I was hoping we could get higher value for him, but now we'll just have to take what we can. I'm just waiting for it to happen so this team can move on.
I think he'd rather win, and felt that saying something publically might be more likely to lead to a new QB.
i think major is right. i think he's most fearful of the texans keeping DC around. and he feels like he needs to come out and say something or risk the fact that they're gonna bring him back. i don't think robinson cares if he's traded or released...just so long as he's gone.
If he cared about the Texans, he'd care which way it happened. I think we'd all rather have another 4th rounder for Carr than to let him go for nothing, even if we'd be happy with the latter. Not to mention, I seriously doubt they're scrambling down at Reliant this morning to get rid of Carr because of what Dunta's said.
It would be nice if they would. I'm not real interested in losing players because of an allegiance to DC. I don't wanna see the opportunity costs of DC continue to mount. It's enough already.
I'd bet Dunta Robinson thinks its more likely that they get rid of him if Carr's teammates give him a vote of no-confidence. You think if a bunch of Texans players came out and said "please get rid of Carr", it wouldn't have any effect on the organization?
I think it's obvious they're very much considering parting ways with Carr, regardless of what Dunta said. Do you think that there will be players demanding to be traded or holding out if we keep Carr? Has that ever happened?
No, but I can see players not having the same commitment in the offseason, or during training camp, or during the season. Teams develop "losing mentalities" all the time that are hard to break out of. If you don't believe your team can win, you're just not going to try your hardest. That's basic human nature.
I think it would, but I don't think the players should do that in the media when they know the team is exploring trades for that player.
For starters, missing the opportunity to draft a new franchise QB in a draft full of them last year and re-energize the franchise.
I don't disagree with that - but I don't think Robinson cares at this point. Like many fans, I think he just wants Carr gone, and is doing what he thinks will help lead to that end result.
Yes, and the franchise will get worse, and get sucked down into that mentality of losing, where you come to a team for a paycheck and nothing else. You think all players give equal effort at all times?
