He better have something up his sleeve, cause you can't give up 3 contributors on your team for 1 all star. 3 for a superstar is one thing but Pau is not that.

I won't comment on the trade itself because we did give away a lot, but take look at the player we got in return...Pau Gasol, one of the top big men in the game. Ever since Yao got injured, we've been looking for his replacement. We were so desperate that we considered players like freakin Dalembert, Biedrins, and Jordan. But, we ended up with an elite big man in Gasol instead. Let's be a little grateful and rational here. Even though we gave up fan favorites, we ended up with the best case scenario.

Something that can be said about what Martin and Scola were not, and that is dominant players. They didn't command double teams and an offense needed to conform to their capabilities for them to effectively score. Gasol is someone who you can just dump the ball to and let him go to work. It can be genuinely argued that he's been the Lakers most valuable player for the past couple years. In games that Gasol scored 20+ points, the Lakers had a ridiculous winning percentage. The Lakers certainly underutilized Gasol and towards the end of the season, you could definitely tell that Gasol was annoyed. Now, he gets to start fresh, be the main man on a young squad. Plus he will receive coaching from one of the best big men in history. We did give up a lot, and time will tell if it was too much, but nobody should be unhappy that we got Gasol of all players. He's a top 10 player for crying out loud, that's not something we've had since Yao left.
