I wanted Vince over anyone else. But I think Bush would have made a difference, as Carr would be dumping off to someone that is electric in the open field. So, if not Vince, then Bush. I also think the Texans would have a better record with Bush or Vince, and if Bush was drafted, I think Carr would be a lot safer than he is now. DD

Brees wasn't in the draft. The Texans had FULL control over the draft and who they picked. Brees was a free agent - he had say in where he goes and there's no reason to assume that we could just have signed him if we wanted to. Plus, he was hurt and there were serious questions as to whether he'd be ready in September or ever be the same. Brees is a non-issue.

Wow. Several folks here have been better at expressing my own feelings about this debacle than I have. Well said...but I would have added 2 more stupids.
I remember the bush bowl, vince hadn't declared for the draft. I don't know why people try to bring up the bush bowl like we had to make some pact on who we wanted then. "you wanted bush, you can't change your mind"
