I already watched the game. I saw multiple stupid plays by the Wizards down the stretch that had nothing to do with the referees. And I retract the use of the word "fabricating". I just don't think their was a fix.
Either way, I am now fully convinced that indeed the league has quite an influence over how games are decided. Remember the Cavs-Wizards series from a year or two ago? LBJ got away with so many walks that he was roaming free like a giddy horse. I guess it's no news for the Wizards to take it up the rear from the refs when it comes to playing against the King. The same thing can be said about Wade's foul-shot-record-setting finals performance against the Mavs, though I am not really angry about that
Basically every call in the last two minutes favored the Cavs, so for a casual fan it is pretty easy to draw the conclusion that the game is fixed. Now for the calls themselves, the Butler foul on James' 3 pter is questionable, and so is mike james' 2+1 call. But then after that, the two Jamison calls, the loose ball foul on Varejao and the offensive foul, are both questionable. There was no replay on the loose ball foul, but in a typical game you probably won't see this one called. It's the last 2 minute of the game, it was not an obvious foul, and Varejao already got the rebound. For a normal game, the ref would probably just let the play continue and see what the Cavs can do, instead of awarding the Cavs 2 fts, which both went in and put the Cavs ahead. Then the offensive foul on Jamison, the Cavs player (forgot who is was) looks like he was still moving when Jamison charged into him. That call could go either way, and in typical end game situations probably no foul would be called and just let the game continue, and Jamison had already missed that shot. The wizard sucked hard on the final few possessions, and the Cavs took advantage of it. But it is just a shame that the refs decided to go whistle happy in the final minutes of the game, and effectively decided the outcome instead of just let the players play the game.
someone wants lebron james in the NBA Finals, they have invested a lot on him, so they need to bring him to the finals
One of our beloved refs just got fixed into the front row. Man, the Blazers' defense sucks. Unless they make some kind of trade, their best case scenario in my eyes is a first round upset. They can't play defense when it counts.
Good! It is this! We don't need to say what! What use? Do you think David stern will determine the rockets is the winner?! ? Of course not! So! If you're an informal people! Let it go! The rockets did not win the south-west can get champion! If you still so talkative, that I really doubt whether there really for the rockets do you trust! Believe me! The rockets can do!
As much as I don't like to see the Cavs win, and there were some very dubious calls, you have to say that this game came down to crunch time execution. With Antawn Jamison fouled out, and LBJ keyed in on Caron Butler, Mike James was the #1 offensive option for the Wiz. When he's your guy you're relying on to win the game for you, you probably don't deserve to win. No offense, but he sucks.
Please post often. There is the potential for some really classic stuff here. I guarantee there will be some tag-worthy material.
the cavs are nowhere near a great team. i find it insulting that they're mentioned in the same breath as the lakers and the celtics right now, and i really dislike both those teams. when the schedule catches up to them, you'll see their true colors.
I agree that the Wizards deserved to lose because they are a terrible team with terrible coaching, but not like this. That was some bad, bad officiating in crunch-time, the very moment refs are supposed to swallow their whistles. I can't wait until the Cavs lose a few straight because while they're a good team, I can't stand the ESPN commentary that reads like "Let's save time/energy and order Lebron's championship rings now." Cleveland is nowhere near as good as Boston and LA. I (a Rockets neophyte) would give Houston the edge in terms of talent/depth, at least before the Cavs make a trade.
Yeah, I don't see how it's either-or myself. The Wizards are a bad team. There's a reason they were 4-22 coming into this game, and it wasn't for lack of talent. But still -- good gracious. Between the Rockets game and this one, it's now rather obvious why the Cavaliers are unbeaten at home this season.
i watched about the final 3 minutes of the game last night after i got home and i was shocked at the one-sided amount of calls in favor of the cavs. i am not saying a "fix" was in (heck i dont know what the line was last night but I bet the wizards won) but something just didnt seem right. I am sure stern mentioned that its probably the leagues best interest to have the cavs make it to the ECF at worst and have some sort of story for them. The celtics had their winning streak, the lakers ....well they are the lakers, the cavs have their unbeaten home record. I doubt any legitimate team will ever get a fair shake in cleveland, seriously. The Rockets came in and had Yao played no minutes really going into the fourth and it was funny. Nothing was called on Yao when the cavs has their 16 pt lead and then when it was trimmed to 1 and close again there was a pretty questionable "and 1" that James drew on Yao. And then last night the wizards are a terrible team no reason for anyone to worry but then when the wizards were up late it came in a flood. The 3pt foul, the charge on jamison, the rebound by varejao that I thought was a foul on him the way jamison came out of the scrum since jamison had inside position. the charge on butler too was questionable you never see a call like made with 25 seconds left. wallace wasnt completely set on that play. While the wizards didnt help themselves they had to overcome 8 vs 5 last night in the last 2 minutes.
