OK, I still would give (someone else's) left nut to see this show ... but four songs from the Everly Brothers? Like I posted above, I still have goosebumps from Artie Garr's solo performance from a while back, but four frickairn' songs? That aside, I'm sure RMTex still came home more than satisfied. Enough brilliant songs from Simon to keep things flowing.
Well, the show was f*cking great. I was very impressed. The sound was not loud at all and very clear. You could hear everything. They had Jim Keltner (Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Travelling Wilburys, among many others) playing drums for them, and he was very impressive. The vocal harmonies were great. The Everlys were fantastic as always. Since S&G stopped making original music together in 1970, all of their hits fit nicely into a 2 hour package. They played everything you would want to hear. My Mom had a great time. We ate at Cava Bistro (at the Preston stop on the light rail) for dinner and it is an AMAZING restaurant. Both my Mom and I ran into a bunch of people we knew. Fun night, and I am glad I got to see S&G. Also, the funniest thing Paul Simon said all night was.... "Give us Roger Clemens back!"
