If Colbert criticizes Hillary with his Viacom-funded speech, it's legal, but if Citizens United funds the same speech, it's illegal? Makes no sense. They're both corporate funded political speech.

Well you raise a good point. If Murdoch hires GOP potential candidates for president and lets them spew talking points for several years until they officially declare is that corporate funded speech? If the Koch and conservative donators like the head of Staples or Home Depot buy big ads on Fox which is almost like non stop 365 GOP talking points to lower their taxes, lower what they pay workers, and give them tax breaks to import Chinese stuff made at $.50 cents per hr what is that?

It is not enough just to not allow rich guy/corporte money to drown out all other paid political advertsing, a form of speech, but you can't allow a group like Clear Channel to buy all the radio stations nationwide or in a particualr market. How about West Texas where you can drive for 50 mile stretches and not get anything on your car radio but Clear Channel and probably Rush Limbaugh. We used to have rules regulating corporate speech.

If there is a demand for an alternative to Rush, start a talk show. There's nothing stopping you.

Why does the left always want to control speech? What are they afraid of?

most broadcasted speech is corporate funded. Hell, newspapers are corporate funded speech.

Speech about politicians is different than politicians making speeches, which isn't all their donations go towards anyway.
