You mean you actually played at a gig? I thought you just scheduled and then cancelled at the last second, leaving fellow BBS-types who show up no choice but to drink too much while listening to 70s classics by the replacement band. *cough* bojangles *cough* :D

I guess I owe you a drink next time we gig AND I send out the right club in the email AND we don't cancel AND you show up!

PS: do you live down there? Ever party in other parts of the city?

    RMT-

Unless they are science buffs, I'd personally skip out on NASA. It sucks.

Ok I take that back, it royally sucks. It's not worth the trip out there.

Everything that I'd suggest has already been mentioned, but when you go to another city/state, you want to check out the finest women that place has to offer. So yes, take them Galleria, but take them out to Joia as well.

Another food suggestion would be Star Pizza. As for Little Saigon, there's not much of it left.

Whatever you do, you gotta make sure you take em to the best chicken fried steak in town. I don't know where that would be, but I eagerly await the answer to that myself.

Yes. Sambuca is a great place. If you ever have a chance to see Tommy Dardar or Norma Zenteno there, definitely go.

They already bought the tickets, but I warned them it wouldn't take more than two hours.

Hickory Hollow has a good CFS but I'd give Pappy's on I-10 near campbell the nod over HH. There is just something about HH's gravy that doesn't quite do it for me. If you take them to HH let them order the largest one just so they can see how we do it in Houston. I've never seen anyone finish the largest they sell in one sitting.

I'd also suggest the La Carafe (or how every you spell the name of that really old bar down town right off market square).

I would also suggest the fried shrimp at BBQ Inn on crosstimbers but they will be closed for their summer break when your friends are in town.

I work at NASA so the Space Center of Houston is pretty lame to me.
I gave the same advise to my nephew who is in his 20s for his first trip there. Turned out he wouldn't leave the place until it closed! Different stroke for diff folks.

I work there too - and my father-in-law spent all day screwing around at NASA. I guess growing up around it you don't understand the "wow" factor...
