I'm like Bryce Drew with better rebounding and defense. But I can guard bigger people (I'm like 5'11''), move well without the ball, shoot quickly off the dribble, and I love to set pasty gangster picks. Note: I usually get screwed playing pg because I am not a tremendous ball handler, but I can bring the ball up court 94' under pressure without making stupid turnovers. And like my name, I look for high percentage shots before I take the spectacular one.

    I think it's cheating if your person isn't or wasn't a Rocket.

I like to think of myself like Otis Thorpe, hince my UserName of OT but, the guys I play with call me Worm because I am relentless on the boards. Even at 5' 11" if you know how to box out and where to position elbows you can get a rebound or two. I am also like OT and Worm in that I can't hit anything from outside and I am too short to shoot inside so, I pass, rebound and play D.

My friends try to tell me I've got game like Kevin Duckworth, but I'm trying to be like Jim Petersen.

I remember having a similar thread about a year back, where AntiSonic I think actually made a starting line-up and bench and sorted each poster by position according to our own projections of our games. We talked briefly of having a little BBS scrimmage game, but it would be cool if Heypartner or anyone else could arrange something this time (though I wouldn't be able to bring my Canadian skillz all the way from Toronto) [IMG]

I really can't find a Rocket or ex-rocket in which my game emulates correctly. I'm not that tall (5"9"), nor very big, but I like to bring it in the post anyhow, with a little bak'in and dreamshak'in, and throw up about a few dozen fakes. I've actually managed to earn the nickname "Azim da Dream" because of my fondness to imitate the Dream's post moves in spite of my shortcoming in height [IMG] On the playground, I guess I sort of play a bit like Sam Cassell, take some wild shots, penetrate to the rack to draw some attention then dish off to the open man. Though I don't posess Cuttino's explosive first step, I have worked hard in developing a passable crossover, not a killer, but dangerous. My main weakness is my outside shot, on some days it can resemble memories of Rodrick Rhodes -- yes, that bad. But in high school games I become more of a pass-first point guard who doesn't do much of the flashy stuff. Kind of a like an Avery Johnson (briefly a Rocket), in that I try to get my teammates involved and hit the occasional open shot or drive to the hole. I won't be a much of a scorer, but more of a defensive specialist who just plays all-out. I can actually get too competitve sometimes.

The ball players up here in Canada actually arent that bad, especially considering the fact that our local hero and inspiration consists of Bill Wennington and a couple of peach baskets [IMG]

Well , I want in on this too , when is the game or tryouts ?

Who am I like ? I guess I would resemble Shandon Anderson in that I hustle can hit the occational J and if I must can hit the 3 too ! (need to practice on that once again though ) I haven't been playing much lately but last time I did I nearly died , but I had a whole bunch of 15/17 yrs old kids impressed w/me because I would steel the ball from them and would block guys much taller then me....am 32 , 5'10 and have about a 23-27 inch vertical and on good days I have slammed the ball on a regular hight rim .....(that's been a long time ago though ) ........anyways...I can give a good 10-15 min. of great playing before I need to sit down for a rest and water...but if you guys really gonna do this I'll try to get in bette shape.

I'm about 5'10 150 and lightning fast. I can grab rim and play quick D. I run track and can easily run for a full 5 on 5 game. I have an almost automatic 3 pointer and am a very good slasher..... however

The gray zone for me is the area in between 10 feet and 22 feet, I'm bad from that area.

Inside game is ok, but I am still a Guard. I can play both guard positions even though I'm small. Like I said I'm very fast and in an open court I can see the court very well and have a very accurate no look pass and have been known to give very pretty dimes. I like to pass and get other people involved before I try to take over on the offensive end. On defense I like to block out and put a hand in the face of the shooter, all while playing tough man on man defense. I have played on the playgrounds of Oklahoma City for 2 years now and played against the best competition OKC has to offer.

Me=Rodrick Rhodes with an outside shot

Hey Charles Jones' stats might not be that great the last few years but he played "BIG" when he was in there. Did a great job in the playoffs against the Spurs one of those championship years. He played when it counted.

I know my name is Stevie3 but that is just out of being a fan. I can't relate to being a superstar.

I would have to be Moochie Norris with all due respect. Little, but in there making a difference with movement and nice assists. I'll give you the ball.

Here's lets have a common format so that everyone can universally use.

    Height:
    Weight:
    College/High School:
    Nickname/Rocket Player:
    Strengths:
    Weaknesses:
Background(optional): Background checks are very important in evaluating players. Previous major injuries. Also include criminal records, steroid use, and prior drug use. Once again, this is optional.

There! That should be a good format for everyone to use.

I'm Ralph Sampson ... only the opposite. I'm 5'7" and I love to play the low post. Ooo you should see me back in my 8 year old. And my push off jump hook ... sweet!
