Mario Elie at a club on Westheimer. He was with 3 or 4 other guys. He just held up the wall with his buddies and was laughing alot.

Bob Horry at a cajun/creole spot down the street from D&Bs on Richmond. No fashion sense. Blue jean shorts and Gilligan shoes. Seemed pretty laid back.

Vernon Maxwell at the BNC (ButtNakedClub) on Dowling back in the early 90s. We were all having a blast.

Nick Van Exel at a Shell Gas Station near Hobby. He jumped out of a tinted mini-van taxi, ran in, bought a couple of cases of beer, and jumped back in. I was ahead of him in line and said whaddup. He told me that he and a friend were about to go kick it with some skirts. I wasn't invited.
    :( The b@st@rd.

Sam Cassell everywhere. I was beginning to think that he was stalking me. Whoever posted that he seemed taller in person is correct. He looks taller than his listed height.

Dream at a Randall's on the southwest side. Didn't bother him.

Anthony Mason at Carrington's during the mid 90's.

Sam, Nick, Antonio McDyess, Biz Markie, Mario, Big Tigger, Sam Mack, and Kenny Smith, at a party in one of the Galleria area hotels a few years back...........

that's all that I remember off the top of my head.

    anyone remember Joe Stephens...anyone...anyone?

He was my lab partner in middle school shop class- he went nuts when my welding rod got stuck to the metal- I told him to shut the machine off and he freaked out and ran around the shop yelling for the teacher. We grew up in the same neighborhood and graduated from North Shore together.

Saw Mark Cuban in Las Vegas-strange that I went from Dallas (where I live) to Las Vegas and the only famous people I saw were from Dallas. Mark Cuban and that evangelist whose wife has pink hair on TBN. TBN is in Dallas also.

I lived 8 houses down from Robert Horry in High school.
And Rob is a frequent visitor to the Mercury Room, I have seen him at least 3 times there.

My ex-girlfriend used to live down the block from Hakeem when I was in high school in Sugarland.

I saw Mark Bryant at the Hard Rock Cafe(the old one on Kirby) right after the Rox got bounced out of the playoffs in '96 or '97, Can't remember.

I saw Tim Duncan in the Galleria at Futuretronics buying a camcorder. Got his autograph. He is extremely outgoing and suprisingly funny!

I saw Steve Francis at Treasures during his rookie year, sandwiched between a dozen or so breasts.

I played against Robert Reid at Clements High school Project Graduation fundraising b-ball game in '95.

My line against him: 0-1, he blocked my dunk attempt. lol...

I saw Vernon Maxwell's purple Porche VM#11 a few times, but no gun!!

I have seen Charles Barkley drive out of his neighborhood in New Territory.

And Verse, you are right...don't let your children go to Dulles.

And my friend just bought a decked out Tahoe from Joe Stephens last week. He was hanging out with Cat.

    stab,

i actually went to dulles. it's an ok school, i guess; but i don't think i would recommend sending your kids there. i went during the late 80s and, at that time, we were in the upper echelon of high schools. even then, i didn't care for the "culture" (or relative lack of) @ dulles.

    RIP Mr. Ramos

    1. i didn't care for the lack of culture.

    2. the quality of teachers, imo, was piss poor. i had three friends that were literally provoked into altercations with teachers. the teachers did everything they could to exacerbate the situation, rather than extinguish it. another friend of mine had a teacher recommend that he should "pick up a trade and maybe go to trade school". dude went on to be quite successful as a businessman.

    3. lack of participation by the counselors, etc. despite being near the top of my class, i received absolutely ZERO assistance from the counselors et al @ dulles. no suggestions on where to look for scholarships, grants, etc. nothing.

    4. very impersonal relationships with the students. i'm one who believes that part of a school's job is to help cultivate the natural aptitudes of their students. let's just say that i never saw a teacher take a personal interest in a student. oh, except for the one teacher who was sleeping with one of her students...

    there's a few reasons why...

actually, there were two teachers (to my knowledge) that were sleeping with their student(s). the one i mentioned (above) who was - at the time - also dating ernest givens, and mr. (coach?) johnson. johnson got busted and was fired/resigned shortly thereafter.

    Omega and Verse,

No disrespect of course. I went to Clements(c/o '95), Dulles is, or was our big rivalry. I gotta get a may jabs in as I can, heh, heh. I had many friends over there and had more than my share of fun in Sugar Creek. The occasional keg party on the 10th green, hell, I think the SC Country Club may still be looking for me!!
But the rivlary was fun and having bragging rights in high school is a big thing.
..Errrrrr.... that is if you are on the winning side of it!!!
