oil prices

    makes me think that the US has backed itself into a corner with oil dependence and only alt. energy technological progress will push it out of the dilemma of having a weaker dollar and boosting domestic oil industry, or having cheaper prices w a stronger dollar but at the expense of the domestic oil economy.


    screwed either way with this oil addiction

    I thought the price dropped because of the election and oil companies not knowing who to payoff.

    Yeah, its not that simple (costs go down, so producers costs go down).

    The producers have some fixed costs. The cost of crude is essentially what a company can sell it for right? The costs to get it out of the ground don't go down just because the price of the oil is going down. It hurts the Upstream guys, and helps down stream.
