Anyone have a reasonably priced place they take their car to for an oil change w/o a ton of upselling? I'm tired of Jiffy Lube and the upselling every time I'm there.
Upselling is part of the business. Either do it yourself or go to a place where none of the employees care about the profit, like Walmart.
Angie's list gives excel automotive technology a good review. I think if you're a member they have a 19.99 special or something like that.
Just tell them you will replace the air filter / cabin filter yourself. Say no thanks to scheduled maintenance. I like Jiffy Lube because they are really fast and I have been receiving $20 off coupons for them constantly ... I wouldn't go there without the coupon
I have used Cherry Park Automotive for oil change and tire change. Never an upsell and do decent work at decent price. Would go back to them when I can't do something myself.
Re: WalMart I knew someone who worked some months at a Midas (I know, not that great of a place) but they would have tons of customers who came to them simply because WalMart somehow f***ed up their oil change so bad that they needed a larger repair. For that reason, I avoid WalMart.
It takes 15 minutes total, 3 minutes of actual hand movements to change my oil. It costs $30 and that's with full synthetic oil and a premium oil filter.
Fair enough point. I'm getting used to doing things more on my own now and didn't know if it was the same at a lot of places. Might give Wal-Mart a try still too.
My brother's girlfriend had this cousin who was dating this gay guy who was dating some dudes sister whose mom worked at WalMart. I asked for full synthetic and now I don't know what I got...? What did your friend say was the problem?
