Thanks Almu! You are so lucky to encounter some kinda famous guy! Even kinda! And McCallum seems nice... Well bad news for Rocket. Why is it Guess WHAT I saw?
Even if this was true, nobody in the organization will ever admit it. How do you admit you overplayed your hand was too freakin coy for your own good.
I haven't lived in NYC for almost a year and a half now, I'm back in Houston now (yeah), but you made me really miss it. Weird. Brown is my first choice. But I would rather have someone passionate about this team, like Dunleavy, than someone who feels like he's doing us a favor by coming here (Brown). But I still want Brown. Somebody just get Moochie under control, and light a fire under Eddie's A$$! I'll coach. I will give them everyday of of the week and I will work for 18 hours a day and I only need $28,000 a year. My first move will be to trade Moochie for a hotdog and a biggie drink from concessions and buy Larry Brown's book (if he has one).
This was the MAIN reason i wanted Brown...he would make everything go through Yao and make it easier for the guys on the perimeter like Francis and Mobley...but i HOPE that our new coach can see this concept as well..it's not really splitting atoms here...
This is odd...but... I'm a Rocket fan living in New York City. How many others are there? maybe there is a bar that would play rockets games on nba tv during the year. I would show up for the good games..... it might be pretty dope to have a bunch of ex pats living in nyc watching the rockets games together. right now, i just sit at home watching what comes on espn or tnt.... any other nyc-ers know of a place we could watch games? Once a month would be pretty cool!!!!!!!!
I just moved to New York 3 weeks ago, so I don't really know of any places to watch games. I know one thing though, as soon as they're available, I'm buying rockets-knicks tickets at MSG.
Well, if Dunleavy is the only guy who is dying for the job, then he should get it. I want a coach who wants this team badly.
Thanks for the scoop Almu. People in the know, obviously, don't always know everything. All reports have Silas going to Cleveland, so we'll see what happens. Personally, I'd go with Carlisle first, Dunleavy second (I know people here don't like him, but he did a good job with Portland, imo, especially their offense and use of Sabonis).
I'm down for the Rockets fans in NYC club, but as to where to watch games I can't think of any places off hand. McCallum was wrong, but Van Gundy still might not go to us. Keeping my fingers crossed.
When I lived in NYC I would watch the games at a place called Barfly which is just east of Grammercy Park. I think its like Lexington and 19th street. That area. One of the bartenders was a hard core b-ball fan and appreciated the lone Rocket fan so would always put on the game for me. The food is pretty good to. On some nights you might run into a bartender who hates basketball, loves hockey, and won't put on the game even if you're the only person in the bar. The other place is on the upper west side, close to Broadway and 72nd street, that neighborhood. It's called Time Out. The food is not as good, but the ladies...(in my best Tom Jones) are exceptionally foxy! You can find both in the phone book. And on the Houston/NY debate. If you're an investment banker or a trustfund baby NY is'dabomb. Otherwise I'll take the more laid back confines of the Montrose and the Heights anyday (and I have).
