The 'sip trolls are strong in this thread. Just because you bought a burnt orange t-shirt at Wal-mart, doesn't mean you have to hate on the prolific success of an Aggie. How about buying a L'ville t-shirt and following whatever team Bridgewater ends-up on?
lol....people hating on Manziel are Aggie haters...No one in their right mind thinks he is a talentless joke!! Or that birdwater is better. lulz
All right. I'm upping the offer. This Aggie will even buy you new t-shirts of your choice.* Now that's an offer you can't refuse. *Offer excludes Texans and Aggie t-shirts. Offer does not include a clue - buying one for you is out of my price range. Cannot be combined with buy one get one free Midol coupon - you're just going to have to cry it out. Sorry.
I'm neither an Aggie nor a Longhorn. Nor do I care about college football. But I believe Manziel has never won a college championship, right? In fact his team has never even played in the championship game. Isn't that kind of presumptuous of him then? At least VY won a national title against at that time argued to be the greatest college team ever. Anyway, Manziel looks very unimpressive on tape. I don't mind him being short. But he doesn't exactly exude Drew Brees when I watch him.
I dont get the hate in this thread or the comparisons to Vince Young. Manziel broke just about every single season SEC record as a freshman and followed it up with an even better sophmore season. He won the Heisman and was a runner up the next year. I didn't see Bridgewater, Bortles, or Clowney in NYC. Imagine if the guy had played two more years of college. He's not flawless, but has shown he is able to learn and get better. He has fire, confidence, and is a leader. Something we Texans fans so badly desired from our QB but never got it. He needs polishing but once again, only a sophmore folks. He's by far the best QB prospect in this draft and many of you just hate him cause he went to a rival Texas school. Guess what? Better prepare for the inevitable. Manziel's gonna be a Texan.
You have to do everything you can, to raise your draft stock. Or at least keep it where it is. The question asked was, "what if the Texans pass on you?" The two logical answers are: - ...then I wasn't good enough for the first overall pick - ...then they would be making a mistake. You should never devalue yourself, especially so close to the draft. If I was Manziel, I'd say the exact same thing.
Manziel, in his freshman year, was still getting the kinks out in the first three games. Losing against Florida (the first game) and LSU sealed the deal for A&M not even being in talks for the championship game. And last year, the defense was so atrocious that Manziel carried A&M in every win. If the defense was better all around, I honestly think A&M would have been in the championship game. But that's a game of "what ifs."
I do think it's funny when people bring up the Heisman....when is the last time a Heisman trophy winner was worth a damn in the NFL? Scam Newton has been alright, RG3 I guess has been decent but Bradford? Tebow? Ingram? Troy Smith? Leinart? Jason White? Most Heisman winners in the last 2 decades have been either horrible or nothing special in the NFL, it's not something to talk about.
Scam Newton you guess....??? Lol.. Scam you call him... I bet you probably went off on Cam like you're doing Johnny in this thread and had to eat those words too and you're bitter that Cam has been successful. I see the same situation coming.
Another thread lock imminent? What is it about Bridgewater and Manziel that turn people into three year old brats? Seriously? As far as his comments, he needs to zip it. No owner is going to tolerate that sort of crap. Manziel desperately needs to listen to his handlers, and he needs to quit trying to win teams over with his words and focus on getting ready for the Combine.
I call him Scam, because I'm a Bama fan and.....well that's just his name. I didn't "go off" on Scam like Manziel because despite the fact that I can't stand him, his talent was undeniable. Maybe I'd think differently about Manziel if he had the physical tools that Scam does. You simply can't compare a 6'5 250 pound guy with a cannon arm to Manziel. Now all of that said, Scam has his flaws, he's not a very good leader, he's immature, and he's not the best QB in the pocket but he's still miles beyond the best JFF could do.
Lets get things straight about CAMERON JERRELL NEWTON 1. The leadership and immaturity stuff if over blown 2. He had miles better pocket presence than JFF 3. He CARRIED that Auburn team to a title. If CAM was on the Aggies, they would be unstoppable
