i didnt care for the performance when i saw it, but watching again i have changed my opinion.

they looked like they were having fun - kind of jamming out - that dub breakdown in the middle was cool.

 

wait a minute! "puffy doing a cover" - what are you talking about??? puffy doesnt do other peoples songs - puffy writes ALL his own music!

ill have to look for this video clip i saw of keith richards making fun of puffy - "dont you have anything original to say? write some songs of your own for god's sake!"

 

Don't know why I didn't check before now, but the Toyota Center currently has the following events during the June 18 (Phoenix) and June 26 (Dallas) stretch of open Police dates:

Comets on the 22nd (Friday)
WWE on the 24th (Sunday)

So that would suggest either Saturday the 23rd or Monday the 25th for the Police.

Police Fanclub has heard the outcry over the presales (those that join the fanclub were put at a disadvantage) and will be tweaking the system for the non-Best Buy presales. They've changed the setup for today: ONLY fanclub members will have access to the presale, and tomorrow Ticketmaster will allow people to find tickets and purchase a membership to buy them. I doubt this will be the permanent solution. I'll check back in with updates on how well or poorly the presale goes in a half hour.

Looks like MSG/Fenway/Canada presale went smooth. Seems like most people who tried got tickets, and the majority of people griping are simply unsatisfied that they aren't up close.

Two unique factors at play: MSG is going to be the toughest ticket of the tour, and this was fixed as fanclub-based presale only (general public couldn't pick out tickets and add a membership fee to the shopping cart).

Doesn't seem that $225 tickets were readily available (only saw one person claim one - in Montreal), most people had to get the $55 level.

Interesting tidbit - apparently people who tried cutting/pasting their presale codes ran into a batch of problems. May be a good idea to avoid doing so, or to copy paste from a text-only application such as notepad. If a space character is inadvertently included, it will be rejected.

That's pretty impressive - MSG on TM was eaten up in a flash.

 

Nope nothing special

Just logged on at 9am this morning when they went on sale for general admission and just got lucky. Only had to refresh twice. And I snagged the first pair to come up! I didn't even look at a seating chart until I made the deal.

 

Talked to someone with the Rockets today and got this in return: I have not heard any rumors about the Police, but I will keep you in touch if I do. I'm sure if they are coming to Houston, we will have a good shot at getting them. Who knows, maybe they're talking to Minute Maid.

Dallas is on the 26th, they're doing LA on the 23rd (and 24th?) and NO on the 30th. WWE is at TC on the 24th and the Comets are at home on the 28th. Toyota Center basically has the 25th, 27th, and 29th as possibilities. Astros are away June 22-27 and are at home the 28-30.

There are still a few shows to be announced. Wrigley has two dates in the July 5-6 neighborhood. Giants should be the last show of the first leg of North America and Toronto's November date should be among the first of the second leg (Europe will be mid Aug-late Oct).

They're definitely screwing with fans a little with the way they're announcing only a couple shows at a time, and announcing additional shows for a city only after the first has sold out. Good business, but makes it brutal on the fans.

Dallas gets a second show (27th)

Potential Houston show is now limited to the 24th, 25th, 28th, and 29th. I would think that the 24th is out (travel from LA).
Toyota Center could do the 25th or 29th.
Minute Maid could do the 25th.

I'm getting very antsy, especially because this is becoming an all or nothing gamble - all the other shows have gone on sale/sold out nearly as soon as they've been announced.

If Houston doesn't get one of those dates, I'll essentially be blacked out until the second leg of North America this winter.

Oh well...I guess I'm not going. I was going to see what I could get but I had plans Saturday morning. Besides, I think I would be disappointed with their show when I compare it to a Rush show. lol
