My buddy emailed the story to me this morning. Feb 11th is now marked on my calendar.

If they play Every Breath You Take and Puff Daddy comes out and starts rapping, I'm going to throw my Miller Lite at the TV. They should piss everyone off and play something totally obscure from their 'punk' days like Landlord.

The Police is one of those acts I wished I could have seen in concert when they were at their very best. Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Queen, Roxy Music, Dylan (before his voice got to the point it is now) are others that I wished I could have seen. It will definitely be interesting to see if Sting decides to do the reunion tour after February 11 - they will make a killing off this if they decide to do it.

I've heard a May-June tour is what to expect. I doubt they'll hit many cities, personally. Just go for big dollars in ~ 17 high profile cities. Would not surprise me if Dallas or Houston represent a single Texas stop.

-edit- according to stingus.net, they'll be announcing a 60+ date (international) tour the day after the Grammys. Probably means at least 30 shows stateside. Keep in mind the Police were big on touring globally back in the early 80s.

    (bumpity bump bump)

6 hours and 9 minutes and counting. Grammys, 7pm, CBS. They are opening the show, so if you're like me, you'll watch the beginning and then change it ASAP.

    GOD, I can't wait!!!!

Roxanne was a good choice. Stewart Copeland was great. The mix was a little off...I could barely hear any guitar.

I was disappointed in the song choice and performance.

Yeah, I was kind of hoping for a medley type set instead of all of Roxanne. But man am I glad they didn't whip out Every Breath You Take.

I was happy Sting was still able to hit the high notes instead of wussing out and singing the harmony note. Stewart hasn't lost a thing, MAN it was good to see him back behind the kit!!!

I thought the tempo was a little slow. Didn't quite have that Police type energy where Stewie takes everything twice as fast as it should be. Perhaps Andy warned him about it beforehand. ;) Almost sounded like something Sting would do at one of his solo shows.

The REAL news is that they will be holding a press conference tomorrow to announce tour dates. Please pray with me that Houston will be among those dates. Let's hope it's not some little mini-tour that only comes as far south as dallas....

I'm only 21 so I have no recollection of them. My mom however loves Sting. I don't get it.

Note: American Airlines arena will be checking ID at the door and refusing entry to any Houstonians. :p
