Aargh. This wasn't supposed to turn into a pissing contest b/t Cowboys fans and haters!!! I just wanted to lament that Eddie George jumped ship. I feel pain. My heart aches, and I have no where to turn to!
Titans? Cowboys? They both suck in my book. If they swap players I would still hate both teams equally.
He's still a leader though. You can't measure that in yards per carry. If Dallas needs leadership he will fill that void.
I think he didn't want to get screwed like his teamate did last offseason when he was told to take less money and then would be rewarded later on, only to be cut in the offseason...I love the Titans and it's definitely a SAD day
This is like a dream day for me. My favorite ex-Buckeye playing on my favorite NFL team. Granted Eddie is not the Ed-D of 5 years ago but he is a vast improvement to our other backs. if we can just get 12-15 carries a game out of him I'll be happy. More importantly Eddie is a great person. Works out hard, stays out of trouble and he is a leader. God i miss Eddie at Ohio State. Just hearing 100k people chanting Ed-D, Ed-D. Goosebumps, only 43 days till Cincy!
True, but guys like McNair had been taking cuts for a long time now to make the team better, and yet Eddie, who's production had actually declined was not willing to do it. Sure, he may not want get to dissed like Godfrey, and I can respect that. But I respect McNair more for doing what was best for the team. Everyone knows we have a cap problem. It wasn't like we wanted to be cheap. It was a neccessity.
I love Eddie George, but he is washed up. This is like Earl Campbell going to the Saints. He just does not have much left in the tank.
What was Tennesse's offer to Eddie? Sounds like Dallas gave him $1.5M as a signing bonus $650k in salary (vet minimum) and upto $2M in incentives. Also I just visited an Ohio State board and the consensus there is he left because of TN having a sub-par OL (although I don't know if Dallas's o-line is much of an improvement) and them refusing to play a FB in their offense more.
Pfft. You Tennessee fans act as if this is some sort of loyalty to the former Oilers. It's over. They're Bud Adams' team, not Houston's. Since George is gone, I hope that is one less connection you have to that treasonous team. Once McNair is gone, I hope you all will give up on them. The Oilers/Titans are cursed. Give it up. No, I'm not bitter.
Damn, Eddie George. Could of went to 29 other teams, but had to choose the damn Cowgirls! YOU b*stard!
screw the Titans! I hate them! They left Houston so screw 'em! I'm glad George came back and joined the Cowboys I must say though I always have some sort of Texas loyalty thing going on...
Eddie George hasn't been good in over 3 years, probably longer. In the immortal words of Derrick Coleman, "Whoop-De-Damn-Do."
I remember when Eddie averaged something like 200 yards a game VS the Raiders, he was simply unstoppable once he busted through the Line. Sad truth in the NFL is the average RB Career lasts 4 seasons. George joins Curtis Martin, Jerome Bettis and Emmitt Smith as novelties in the backfield.
This is a great pick-up for the boys...He's going to make more than $1.5MM due to incentives...if he's successful, so are the boys...
