Man, I really need to pony up some dough and send it into Clutch so I can edit again. I'm really misspelling words badly now, although they are at least somewhat understandable. But I fear that some day I will be talking about Rudy and how great his two "tities" were for all Rocket fans. Oh, and I guess it is official since it is now on the ESPNews bottomline thing. Probably an article out there somewhere, but I don't feel like finding it.
Jesus. I worked for the Cowboys for two summers during college, and I'm still a Texans fan only. When the Oilers left, I latched on to the 49ers... rivals of the Cowboys... instead of rooting for Dallas. Show some willpower, for crying out loud.
Uh...I thought I explained that perfectly. I lived the first 20 years of my life in Houston. The Rockets didn't move away or cease during that time. I'm also a huge Astros fan. The only reason I lost touch with Houston football is because Bud Adams picked up and left with my team leaving us teamless for a few years. In that time, I moved to D/FW...yada yada yada . To my credit, you could never convert me to be a Rangers or Mavericks fan. It will never happen...unless Houston loses their sports teams in these sporting categories. You guys and your sporting combinations which you could never believe could occur! LOL!
At least I'm not a traitor to my own state...for crying out loud. LOL. I could never root for a team in a city I have never lived at any time. That is as taboo as it gets in my book.
Running backs typically deteriorate after the age of 30. Your body can only take so much abuse before it starts to wear down. George has been averaging like 3 ypc the last few years. He probably will share the backfield duties with Troy Hambrick.
Same here, when the Oilers left I followed and rooted for the rivals of the cowboys myself. I can remember being 10 years old in 1981 when "The Catch" happened and laughing my ass off. I have been anti-cowboy for a good while now.-
Even when I was a Houston football fan, I never hated the Cowboys in a way most of you do. I don't understand it and never will. I think alot of it is just driven off of stereotypes and hate mongering. It's cool, though. It doesn't bother me in the least that you can fill yourself full of so much hate for something. I would say it's equivalent to having a screw loose in the brain, though.
Hey, I'll take Eddie for that price. The cowboys need a backup rb anyway. I read a quote somewhere that Eddie wanted to latch on to a team that could win the SB. I'm a dallas fan but even I don't think they are close to that level yet. They aren't even the best in their division. What they really need is a freaking corner.
My hate (if you call it that) partly comes from the fact I live 100 miles southwest of Houston and the newspaper down here always talked about the cowboys first and the oilers always took a back seat to them in the news.
No kidding! Eddie is delusional. That's not a good sign of his mental faculties. He may be an over-the-hill bust yet.
So, you have "America's Team Syndrome". Ah...I presume most of you must fall into that category. I guess I wasn't heavily influenced by that era because I was not caught up in that era nor over-exposed to it(although I was aware of it). It just shows that we are each persuaded by our own personal experiences. I'm not judging you just as you shouldn't be judging me based on teams I like. You've seen my logic. A vulcan would understand it. He may not understand some of you people's logic, however. LOL.
I liked the cowboys when I was a kid in the '70s (my dad is from Dallas). But I grew up. I could never put a team from another city before a Houston team. It's not logic, it's heart, Chilcutt.
I'm a Rockets, Cowboys and a bandwagoning Yankees fan as well. Woo hoo! I live in Houston so therefore I am a Rockets fan. Around the time I started watching football 94-95 the Oilers were fixing to leave and the Cowboys were being hated on in Houston. So to me the Cowboys were like underdogs and I just latched on. I hate baseball and I think the Astros are the biggest bunch of losers in sports history. Its just pathetic. But there is just something about Yankee mistique come playoff time. I dont watch any regular season games, but I love watching the Yankees win in the playoffs. Not to mention that the Cowboys and the Rockets were sucking hardcore in the late 90's and early 00's, so I decided I at least deserve one team that wins - Yankees.
That heart for the Houston team was ripped out of me when Bud took our team away. Heart? I'M ALL HEART, MAN!!! (Jerry Maguire) LOL
I'll tell you...if that is all he's got and he is washed up, then he won't be starting or seeing much playing time. That's the good thing about Parcells...he's going to play whomever is producing. He's not going to play Eddie just because he is a veteran. He better be producing or he will be watching from the sidelines. And, all of you can enjoy it quite immensely I'm sure. LOL. But, there's a chance he could answer our immediate needs at RB and help us go to the playoffs yet again. I like our team make-up much more this season than last season. Whether that actually translates into another playoff berth and going past the first round...is up in the air? End of story.
