I just don't get the Ewing-haters who don't want him on the Rockets because Georgetown beat U of H for the NCAA title twenty years ago. Get over it, already! Seems to me Ewing has gotten over Houston beating him for an NBA title in 94. He recognized the potential of a young 7'5" center and came to help tutor him. Personally, I hope he does a good job.

And I hope there won't be any more childish, racist "gorilla" taunts, either here or in the arena.

 :p :p AAAAhhhh don't even dangle that golden carrot in front of us! since it can't happen. Geez a front line of Yao and Mourning, I'd have an orgasm before every game. Fantasies like that are just that, fantasies. Let's deal with reality. Ewing is an assistant coach, at first I thought it was a slap in the face to Akeem, but that era is over and we have to move on, he doesn't want to coach or be involved that way. Perhaps at some point in the front office someday but never in any on the court basketball capacity. Maybe Kenny Clyde or Mario would someday, and I think JVG would be cool with that on some level, remember those guys carry weight in the organization because of their rings. Carroll and the croonies haven't forgotten that completely.

AMEN, Now I'm a woman,so I don't know about hanging the with hoes at Treasures, I don't think Yao needs to be there, I don't think his girl in China would approve. But everthing else I agree with , Ewing deserves a chance. Yao only needs work on his boxing out and inside the box power moves. Ewing can't teach him anything else. His instincts are soooo natural i.e.Akeem, that Ewing doesn't need to work on that, passing-quickness -fakes, jumpshots, so he doesn't need work on that. Yao isn't a lump of clay, but he can help him. Again, where is all this Ewing hatred coming from? We only played them twice a year, once in the finals and WE WON, yeah I remember the NCAA but so what?? Akeem had the last laugh... I'm with you, if they'd hired John Stockton or Detlef Shrempfh, I'd be having a stroke or something, but Ewing??? I have respect for this man...-
    :D ;) ;)

I would have preferred Dream or even Moses...If nothing else, then have them train and coach Yao in the summer...
