This is the guy the Chronicle has us picking in it's mock draft.

Personally, I'd like to see us trade down and get an extra pick. We have so many needs. If we get a 1st rounder for Henson and trade down our pick, we could end up with 3 picks in the 1st round.

If Sean Taylor is still available at #10 it's a no-brainer.

Please no more references to Kiper, everyone on this board has more insight than him. I'm also interested in coaching staff changes there are so many prominent defensive coordinators available( Greg Williams, Dick Jaron, McGinnis). Hopefully if New York hires Coughlin, he will in tern bring in Chris Palmer as his offensive coordinator due to familiarity. I would like us to go after Greg Williams and Kubiak out of Denver.

If we could steal Champ Bailey in free agency and move Marcus Coleman to safety, get the DT out of Maryland and d-line or linebackers in the latter rounds .........we should be dangerous.

If we land Champ we can still draft Taylor and let Marcus play SS. He is quick and can hit like a safety. He could be like Cory Chavous who switched from corner to SS.

You would have to play Marcus at FS not SS. I don't think he is physical enough to support the run which is required from the SS position.

    Amen to that!!

Any time you see Kiper compare a guy to Ray Lewis, you have to take him. That's what our defense needs, a Ray Lewis type, a playmaker, a vocal leader, etc.

    Basically, our defense needs ATTITUDE!

I thought it was weird that Mark Vandameer, on his show last Monday, said that the Texans should pass on Taylor because he didn't fit in the Texans' plans. He then went on to talk about how you can have good players who are good citizens as well, like Aaron Glenn.

Does Taylor have a sketchy past of which I'm not aware? Either way, I thought it was a pretty tacky thing to say, especially about someone who may be on the team you call next year.

admirable, yes, but a team full of choir boys doesn't exactly tickle my warm and fuzzies. nice guys don't always finish last, and you certainly don't want to add needless distractions, but if the guy can play, he can play. period.

i mean, which is more likely: that a sky's-the-limit 20-year old is going to mature into a decent human being, or that a lesser talent with a spotless past is going to bloosom into a great player?
