he got back up when the vikings DE white goodman rolled his knees. he kept playing when the fatman broke his lisfranc. And who can forget when the raiders D line abused the offensive line, he kept getting back up. he's can take a hit.
Him going down when you blow on him is from the peyton manning school of dropping if everything is collapsing fall. pretty smart.

You can argue about the I jury prone aspect it you want but toughness is so vague and I wouldn't put that on Schaub. He's played with a tweaked knee, sprained ankle and a lot of the Tennessee game with a broke foot. That seems pretty tough to me

And what's with the calling of Earl a chode? He was a solid rotation player

i do agree in part that this is Schaubs season to earn his keep. Him and Dre aint exactly spring chickens and they finally have a good defense and a great rb to help them. Matt needs to step up and show he can be clutch and healthy for me to agree to him being resigned..

Playing on a separated shoulder and a broken foot isn't tough?

    Rep'd.

He's had his fair share of injuries. He knows when a QB should go down to avoid getting drilled.

If he's the starting FB and TE in double sets, WTF would you have him playing Special Teams as well. If he get's hurt, your versatile and talented player just created two major holes in your line up.

Must have a lot of faith in Graham and that converted LB.

But, yeah, I agree. If Casey is going to be on the field over 50% of the time, he doesn't need to be out there on special teams.

Come on guys. Training camp hasn't even happened yet. Kubiak has talked about the matchup issues Casey can provide since they drafted him and each offseason we hear about the various roles he will be used in.

    Let's just wait and see.

I'm hoping to see if they can make things happen with Casey. When he gets 4+ receptions, he's shown he can deliver. It's just a matter of him progressing as a strong blocker.

And I love the thought of the offense being able to motion into completely different sets. Casey and Walter can shift and switch us into/out of a power set quickly. That can be very useful on a 3rd and 3.

This. It isn't high school, its just a bad idea to have one guy have so much responsibility and play special teams. The injury risk in the NFL is too high.

Hoping this is just offseason madness and Kubiak gets Smith to give a spot to the undrafted FB we signed or goes out and gets another one.

Given how often we had Dressen on the field the last few years, no way could this work unless Graham's blocking has improved and they think Casey won't get hurt again.

    Probably nothing

Don't watch much Longhorn football. Isn't their defense mediocre at best?

No, they have one of the top 5 defenses in the nation. Manny's definitely going to learn from Wade, he's not leaving Austin for anything other than a top head coaching job.
