I feel the same the main reason is Boras wants the attention of the sports world... If we waits until saturday he will get kind of drowned out by the NFL playoffs
Steve Phillips on the Dan Patrick Show (sans Dan Patrick, if you can believe that) said he thinks that CB will end up with the Astros. they finally had a pretty long discussion about the pursuit of CB, thankfully ending the 100 straight hours of continuous NFL talk.

well I can't really say. I was listening to it at work and someone came in to my office right after he said he'd end up with the Astros. He did say he felt the Yanks would not come into play, but I did not hear why he thought he'd choose us over the Mints.
He didn't say anything other than $105 million in Houston is equal to $112 million in NY and that the Mets would probably have to go as high as $120 million, which they probably wouldn't.

Agreed... and this trip was brought to you by nobody other than Scott Boras. With any other agent, this deal probably goes down at the winter meetings... but Carlos will be getting about 2 years and $30 million more dollars out of his last deal, so you can't fault the tactic. He's still evil.
