I agree with this. I also think that the NBA needs to have harsher punishments for dirty plays. Take Dwyane Wade nut-kick. That was despicable, yet he only got a one-game suspension. You really think that's going to stop him from doing it again?
That's simply not true, Duncan raked his arms from James's right before Kawhi got a one hand reach from James's left. Just watched the replay. Either way, why was the foul called on Thiago Splitter who was 8-9 feet away from the play? I could live with them calling it on Kawhi, but the obvious answer here is that the foul was clearly on Duncan and the refs were protecting him. Look, to both sides of this argument: The game was not SOLELY decided by poor officiating, but the officiating had a disproportionate impact on the Rockets. We don't know what the outcome would have been otherwise, but my goodness if you watched that game from start to finish and didn't feel as though Jason Phillips' crew had a vested interest from the onset then I would say go to a opthamologist to get checked for myopia because you sir, are near-sighted.
Bill Worrell seemed audibly frustrated at the referees tonight. Normally he skirts the issue, but tonight he was much more direct in his criticism. He also disparaged yesterday's officiating as well. I think it is true to an extent that against top competitive teams the Rockets do not get the benefit of the call. A majority of Harden's points comes from the free throw line. Assuming we even make it to the playoffs, I think it's quite worrying how a team led by a star that benefits more from the free throw line that most will do in the playoffs when facing OKC, SAS, LAC, etc. - teams that get some degree of preferential treatment.
Today there was a couple calls, but it was only a cpl that went both ways, didn't really mean much obviously. Yesterday was something altogether different.
i'll tell you what i hate. The hand to the hip that is allowed for certain teams on defense. Just like how cpaula and their guards will grab, pull or punch your nads when they fight through a screen. If parsons can get more reputation defensively with the stern minions and get away with doing those things, we are golden
Interestingly, short of a championship/deep play off run, getting more of our players in the All Star game should help with that. The League knows which side of their bread is buttered. They always treat high profile players to a different standard than the rank and file...
