I still don't think there is "irrefutable" evidence, which is required.

It's where I'm confused as well. It's as if they want to ignore the call on the field.

Or, more accurately, what they are doing, is saying: "The call on the field was wrong in the first place because the refs didn't even see the ball fumble The call on the field should have been [this]. Now take a look at the replay to see if there is irrefutable evidence to overturn what the call should have been."

It makes no sense, but apparently they think the lack of irrefutable evidence justifies their call, where in reality it should mean the call as made on the field stands.

Here's the point. Looking at this thread, as well as others, this was not an "indisputable" call. "Indisputable" means 10 people saw the replay, and 10 people agree as to what happened. For that reason alone, the refs screwed up and should not have reversed the call.

Exactly. That is what is so baffling. Usually we're losing out because there is no "indisputable" evidence in our favor, and now we lose out even though there was no "indisputable" evidence in the Colts favor. Periera didn't even address this.

I wonder what the actual rule is there. There WAS indisputable evidence of a fumble, so can they make that call and then go from there? The next step would be that there wasn't indisputable evidence as to whether it was touched out of bounds, so they couldn't say it was. And then the next step was that it was touched in the endzone for a touchback, where they did have indisputable evidence. I don't know if that's how it works or not.
