Huge lean favoring the Yanks in the commentary box today. Before the inning Montgomery was pulled, the commentator highlighted the length of the top half of the inning, 29 minutes, and suggested it's a long time to wait for a starter. Then, he succumbed to confirmation bias by repeatedly citing the long break as the driver behind Montgomery's loss of "sharpness." The fact is the second/third time through the order people were squaring him up. Yuli's HR was a bullet. Bregman his a 400 ft shot to center which was caught at the wall and Springer hit a shot to right which was caught at the Wall. Hence, 2 of the 3 outs he got that inning were a combined 10 feet away from being homeruns. I'd submit that's a material loss in "sharpness" - and it all preceded the long top half of the 6th. Good ole confirmation bias....
