Hopefully this is just a slump like last July/August...with the rest of the season being what they're supposed to be. This is just frustrating to watch.
Back when we were talking about Marwin’s “Guessing” approach at the plate... and Joe was defending the strategy, and how it would work out more often than not. I agreed with you... see the ball, hit the ball. Right now, they’re not doing any of it.
Jeeezus these guys are inept. Give the poor bastards and ironing board. Maybe they would make contact then.
Speak of the devil...Hinch just said when Blum asked him about the home/road offense "We don't swing in the strikezone in this park yet this year."
Hence, why I said I don’t mind them swinging and missing at balls in the zone. Watching hittable pitches go by again and again, sucks. Swinging at stuff you have no business swinging at, sucks. Sure, a middle in vs. and outer edge pitch (both in the zone) may induce strong vs weak contact depending on what you’re keying in on (or how fast your hands are)... but swinging at those pitches has a much better chance of turning into something than anything else.
Our top pitchers would throw multiple no-hitters against this lineup currently. Totally clueless at the plate especially at MMP.
Carlost Correa and Gattis much? Correa must have a rule that he MUST strike out at least 1-2 times a game. Right now I honestly do not even enjoy watching him step to the plate. Ground out, shallow pop up or strikeout.
Astros have a 42 inning shutout streak in their history. Doubt we’ll get there but Arizona has the pitching and we have the heart to put in the effort.
Astros haven't been shutout THREE consecutive games since 1985. Astros haven't even had a runner on THIRD BASE in three consecutive games. BULLSH1T series !!!
Glad I'm working and not watching the game right now... the last few have been frustrating enough from an offensive stand point...
