I'm going with Justin Verlander somehow some way holding it together long enough to hand it over to the bullpen with a scant 2-1 lead. The Phillies definitely point to this game as the pivotal outcome that decided the winner of this fall classic. The Phillies truly believe they let this game slip out of their hands.
I thought he was the right man for the job because of the damage control mode we were in. I did not think he'd bring us a title yet here we are. I say he writes his own check and stays as long as he wishes at this point. It's not like we lucked into the last 2 seasons of being in the World Series. I think he gets a 4 year deal.
I'm worried some of our players may be puking later. I saw one or two drinking a gulp or two of some clear liquid from a liquor bottle.
If I had told you Altuve and Alvarez would both hit below the Mendoza line in these playoffs and JV's ERA would be just a tad below 6.00 and our DH/LF would get just 3 hits in well over 40 ABs.......
