Fun fact: The supposed unstoppable Phillies offense at home went 0-36 at one point during their 3 game homestand in the World Series.

It's the longest such hitless streak in World Series history.

Dumb take. He only gives the shrug to the visiting clubhouse and a ❤️. Neither is terrible. Stop trying to justify Pena. Carlos is forever enshrined in Astris lore.

If the Astros have a lead in the late innings of game six, I would throw everything (excluding Verlander and McCullers) I have available at them, including Javier. Close them out. Weird stuff can happen in game seven's. They have not hit well in two consecutive games. You don't want them to return to "home run derby mode."

    Astros bullpen postseason:

    3-53 Runners on base
    1-27 RISP
    0-19 RISP w/ 2 out

Finally in the 8th inning against Montero someone got a hit with runners in scoring position this postseason.

Phillies were a postseason history best 22-9 at home before dropping those last 2 to the non-intimidated Astros.

If Yuli is good to go and plays his usual 1st base (I think he will will be), I say DH Mancini to see if that game-saving play sparks something on offense. You can tell so much pressure was lifted off his shoulders. Like Verlander getting first W. Seems worth a shot. Then if he's still having bad at-bats, pinch hit Hensley. No matter what I don't want to see any Diaz.

Insane how probably most Astros fans knew very little or nothing about this kid at the beginning of the season and now he might be the Astros WS MVP at the end of the year. Absolutely 0% of fans would've believed that in April.

Great rookie shortstops that made it to the WS but did not homer:

    Maury Wills
    Dave Conception
    Derek Jeter
    Troy Tulowitski

I forgot about the possibility of DHing Vasquez. That would probably be my first option over everyone else but I think Dusty is too old-school for that and it won't be actually be considered.

Why the Astros win game 6:

Phillies must have the long ball to score runs.

Framber Valdez has the lowest HR allowed rate in all of baseball for a starter.

He's our only backup catcher. If Maldy gets injured, heaven forbid, Vazquez wouldn't be allowed to catch. Based on that play my Mancini, I would let him catch in that dire situation.
