Castellanos hit a mediocre slider that was in the zone, what game were you watching? He didn't fatigue at 65+ pitches on, he completely choked.
Sounds a lot like the Nats and Braves. This Phillies team now thinks there is no way they fail to win this championship. That's a problem. Sports is all about the psychology of the game. Right now we are in a very bad way. They slayed our dragon last night
"In the zone" that was going in the dirt. looks like you weren't watching the same game as anyone else or have that aaron hernandez strike call syndrome if you think that's in the zone
Phillies path to victory is to win 3/4 of the wheeler/Nola games. We need to win tonight and have a fun flight to Philly.
The 1-2 pitch in the 4th was at his shoes well below the zone, and was a soft single. He fatigued by throwing 30+ pitches in an inning that he knows mentally he should have been out of. If that's "choking", so be it... but it did develop organically.
So many of y'all are still Debbie Downer-ing, huh. Lots of series left. Get this one tonight and they're looking at bullpen games for a couple. Heck, their best relievers were pretty heavily used last night. They're hoping Wheeler can go 7 at least. I would like to see Hensley get a shot at DH tonight. What's there to lose? Can't keep trotting out Mancini and Diaz at this point. Nah...the better explanation is that JV is the worst pitcher in the world and is a choke artist. Definitely not that the inning went long and he wore out to the point that they got what they got.
Tonight will be the second toughest game of the series to win. If they can grab it. It will be sweet. Hensley has to start tonight. He makes pitchers throw pitches. Diaz and Mancini are predetermining swings at this point. Its tough to watch.
I hope we don’t get the framber who throws breaking ball after breaking ball in the dirt and falls behind in counts. He needs to be on. We aren’t gonna score much so he needs to be on.
And please Framber…don’t freak out when a ball is hit right at you. We don’t need you wildly throwing it into center field.
I mean… if we’re talking about David freaking Hensley as our savior in this series, we’re already f***ed.
I had a tough time going to sleep last night then ended up having a very strange nightmare because of this game. Since the Astros lost game 1, I was forced to go back to University and repeat my final year instead of graduating. Except all the other students were high school age students and I was the same age. And they were all smarter than me and I was given a Final exam on material that I've since forgotten. If I didn't past the exam than the Astros would lose the rest of the series. A very strange mix of nightmare scenarios for me.
So true. My wife said the same thing. At this point, I really believe that MLB needs to strongly consider an automatic strike zone. At this point, in a world where your iPhone can tell you exactly how long it will take you to walk to Greenland based on the weather and traffic, why in God's name are we still letting dudes with eye problems and subjective bias measure strike zones? Sorry, but people don't pay to watch umps change the outcomes of games.
Not really. You are going to get zero out of Mancini and Diaz. Not even good at bats that result in outs. Hensley will at least work a count and have an other way approach.
Diaz is just going to flail against Wheeler. At least Hensley will make Wheeler beat him in the zone.
Ya it’s really sad, could have easily won the nats one with a robot ump and easily win yesterday. Hurts
