Of those 5, Verlander and Kershaw were the pitchers

Yeah just like the Braves and Nationals

Washington hasn't made the playoffs since '19. The Braves didn't win a playoff series this season. Boston has made the postseason once since '18

Astros are unfortunate to face all these hot teams

There is no stopping the inferno. Ummm until next season when these same teams suck again

We get to wheeler and we can get to anyone. He is an incredible pitcher

Astros were expected to split there home series. There edge comes down to Lance and Javier vs whatever the Phillies can trot out.

Take tonight and the whole series is still in the Astros favor.

If you could just get one good JV start. Would really help this team.

Wouldn't the astros be a hot team also?

They didn't lose a single game in the postseason until yesterday.

The worst part is for the rest of the series...no matter how much of a lead we have..the Phillies will be fully confident they can come back. This has given them the mental edge. I will never feel comfortable that a lead is safe. Phillies been coming back all post-season and this will only make them more confident. On the other side, I do not feel as confident in this anemic offense being able to do the same if they fall behind.

I know Dusty would never have the balls to do it, but I wish he'd go with Urquidy over Verlander in Game 5. Urquidy is 3-0 with a 1.54 ERA in the World Series. He's like the anti-Verlander in this round.

And yet we have 2 starters who have been better than Wheeler both in the regular season and in the postseason in ERA.

Not really. We got by with our superior pitching shutting down the opposition. Yankees were easily the worst team in the playoffs Their offense was laughable. Phillies were raking and had a bunch of gutsy high-scoring affairs..many of which they had to come back from.

Yeah, it's not like the Astros have come from behind this postseason.

The Astros should've known that already. Look at what Philly did in Game 1 at St. Louis and Game 4 at home vs San Diego. They can explode on you if you're not careful. Sometimes managers overreact and pull their starters too soon, but it's probably best to err on the side of caution when facing this team.

Everyone thought the split game would be the wheeler game not Nola.

I don't like splitting the series because they have to go to Philadelphia for 3 games in a row.

Then we should whoop his ass.

Realistically this is Framber’s game to win. Our offense isn’t gonna score many runs off wheeler and I hope I eat my words and we drop 7 on him.
Framber goes 6-7 and allows 2 runs and we have a great chance to win.

Comebacks like that can't happen forever.... and them doing it consistently for more than 2 weeks is a very long time in baseball time-frame. At some point, it ends. The question is if last night was it or not.

That 4th inning just unraveled... a comebaker double play ball that should have been the end of the inning. Then Castellanos hits a 2 strike pitch off his shoes for an RBI when any other pitch out of the zone likely causes a swing/miss. After that, JV fatigued and left balls up.

You're saying they started all 6 of these games?

The Astros don't fold with raucous crowds. Only time they did was in 17 vs the Yankees but besides the point. This Astros team is battletested.

Crowds are an overrated factor in the game of baseball with a veteran team.

And then they come back to Houston for 2. The Astros need to win at least 2 to secure that, whether its here or there.
