Yea...no way I would put JV in the game tomorrow given how his first innings have gone lately. If we can't win with all the rest of our pitchers, then f**k it!
I have not been to an Astros postseason game since 2005. I am better off at home. eta: and everyone around me is better off too
I just hope your son gets another chance to see another World Series game and a victory in the near future.
I agree ..and Correa just standing there watching fastballs whizz by and then swinging at breaking balls is frustrating as hell..and Jose..come on man it's not golf....let's go Stros play like you can.
Whether it's fatigue or just sucking, JV needs a workload restiction during the regular season. 180 IP and 100 pitches He isn't getting any younger.
Jose's only real weakness imo...and we've seen it before...is he gets up there licking his chops when there is a big opportunity to drive in runs...and he loses all plate discipline and patience just swinging away.
Verlander went through 14 different batters before he had a swing and a miss on his breaking ball. Let that sink in for a minute. Hes fkin old. Sad but I think we jumped the gun on giving him the extension. Man i wish we would've saved that money for Cole. FML
I love seeing Grienke smile and seem genuinely excited. Hey verlander we have our back against the wall because you couldnt win one fkin game at home.
JV and Stras won't be pitching tomorrow unless we are in the 16th inning or something crazy. Cole maybe, I don't think they should. We must remember that a starter has a routine and that sometimes they are not as good when they are not in their natural spots doing their routine etc etc. The Dodgers have done this with Kershaw and it always bites them in the butt. If the situation calls for it, I'd rather use our normal relievers and closers. Get some innings from Greinke, use Urquidy if you feel it is needed as he's more used to relief duty than Cole is. I'm just not comfy throwing Cole out there on short rest into a situation he may not be comfy with himself.
