since he's not hitting, he gets less at-bats. Was the proper move.

Personally, I would've moved Tucker to 3rd and Bregs to 7th behind Yuli but this is still the right thing to do.

Win one against the Braves bullpen tonight and the narrative changes no matter how bleak things may seem right now

That would put three lefties in a row.

I would have moved Yuli into third. He’s hitting better than Correa.

So we replaced our #3 hitter who is 1-14 with a hitter who is 2-14. Cool.

Offense will erupt today, but whether or not the Braves will too vs Framber is another story.

I had Yuli third last night but looking at it now, I’m ok with it. Yuli can protect Alvarez better than Correa can. Correa is doing just as poorly as Bregman (slightly better I guess) but you have to change something. We’ll see what happens.

edit: looking again, I would have gone like this:
    • Altuve (R)
    • Brantley (L)
    • Tucker (L)
    • Gurriel (R)
    • Alvarez (L)
    • Bregman (R)
    • Correa (R)
    • Maldonado (R)
    • Pitcher
Swap Breg and Correa if you want, both have been poor. Alternating lefty and righty is nice but it’s not necessary. We have to set ourselves up with the best opportunity to score.

Correa seems close to finally breaking through his slump compared to a few games ago where he was just lost. Whether or not he actually gets big hits today is a different thing. Bregman just seemed lost either way, but playing a lefty might help him today

As long as Dusty doesn't get cute with say using an Urquidy later to try to guarantee a win, I am feeling comfortable today.

Even if Correa is only hitting slightly better, he doesn't look bad the way Bregman does. He's not in that kind of head space, so its the right decision.

It's what I was at least hoping for from Bregman too. Simply missing swings at the plate, but great plate discipline which he has had his entire career. He hasn't been doing even that this series. Correa at least is playing his "normal" way while in a slump.

No way he's that crazy. Our starting pitchers are lined up perfectly the rest of the way. Use every arm in the bullpen if necessary, but leave the starters alone!

Yuli between 2 lefties with his reverse splits is problematic.

    Go 'stros!

Fair enough. Really, some more guys just need to start hitting wherever they bat.

He was the guy who pulled Luis Garcia MID at bat vs the White Sox and putting Yimi up when it was already a 2-0 count at that point.

Yeah, Odorrizi can pitch innings if you need a long arm tonight and really everyone in the pen should be available at this point (even Pressly), So I don’t see Urquidy or Garcia pitching.

Last night was tough. A best of three with Framber, Urquidy, and Garcia lined up would have been a lot better than what we have now.
