The playoffs started October 7, and the Astros’ offense ate plenty against the White Sox and Red Sox.
It’s baseball. Hitters go into slumps. (Bregman’s issues are deeper than a slump, though). Unfortunately, it happened at the worst time it could for the Astros. They have the talent to snap out of it at any time, and hopefully they do so tonight in a big way and keep their season alive. Also, I remember the Astros being dead in the water against the Rays in the ALCS last year and turning a 3-0 deficit into a game 7. They are more than capable of winning three games in a row against any team in baseball if they play up to their potential.
It doesn't matter what the fans think about the situation. It only matters what the Astros think. They don't have to look back too far to see where they won three games in a row in the playoffs while down.. Did it last year in the ALCS to tie the series against T.B. They just need to focus on today and focus on winning this game and ONLY this game. Obviously their backs are to the wall because if they lose this game the season is over. There's NO regrouping and trying to bounce back tomorrow. The bats HAVE to come alive today and more importantly getting key hits with men in scoring position. This team has responded all year. It's ALL about perspective. This is a HUGE opportunity to show everyone what they're made of. Everyone thinks they're done and most people (outside of Astros fans) are glad they're in this position and want them to lose. Great opportunity to shock the world and come back and win this bad boy!! It starts today. Take care of business and bring this series home to where they're playing in front of their peeps!! Urquidy in game 6 and Garcia in game 7 with all hands on deck. Buy it ALL starts today!! Bregman, Correa, Alvarez, and Altuve have to step it up (saw a little from Altuve last night). Need Framber to step up as well!! Keep the faith my fellow Stros fans.
Re-watched The Sopranos recently and saw that Big p***y invented “positive vibes only.” Let’s hope the worm turns one last time...
Bregman is a cocky dude, so moving him down in the order shouldn’t affect his confidence; if anything it should motivate him. Regardless, he’s hurting the team batting 3rd. His PA haven’t even looked competitive.
Dusty needs to completely shake up the lineup. If anything, it will get the Braves out of the comfort zone they’ve been in facing the currently constructed lineup. I say put as many good hitters in front of Altuve as you can. He’s the only one in the lineup hitting with pop. Yuli, Brantley, Altuve, Alvarez, Correa, Tucker, 3B, Maldy, Pitcher.
Lets really mess with their heads and start Maldy as leadoff, Maldy Bregman CC Brantley Alvares Tucker Gurriel Castro Siri Valdez
I’m as pessimistic a Houston sports fan as anybody (and justifiably so), and I don’t like the situation the Astros find themselves in. But this is the best sports team this city has ever produced and if any team is capable of erasing a 3-1 deficit, it’s this team. Win tonight and the probabilities flip
Don't forget, Atlanta sports chokes just as much if not more than Houston. The Braves blew a 3-1 series lead just last year.
Sucks losing to a team you should beat. Braves pitching outside of Matzek has been extremely hittable.
We are two Zack Greinke starts of simply having ample run support on our way to winning 3 World Series titles and being called a dynasty. Instead we are headed towards the disappointment of 1 heavily tainted title.
Lol...the Braves could send a guy off the street in there to pitch against the Astros right now and chances are they won't do much damage at the plate. This has been a great run by this team in recent years and it's great to be in another WS but this coming up small in the WS, especially hitting wise, is getting old and annoying at this point.
it also applies to a team that is better than their opponent but chokes instead of playing their normal game.
