    Well it is time to start the thread, today the draw for placement is going on in just under 1 hour.

    I am hoping for a favorable draw for team USA as we are very young etc.....but we will play whomever.

    What about you?

    Oh, the Draw is at 11am CST......

    I used the draw simulator here and on my second attempt it put the US in Group A with Qatar, Tunisia and the UEFA play in winner. I think that would be pretty favorable, but I expect to be in a Group with Belgium Senegal and Ecuador the way it sometimes seems to go.

    Welp let's see the other 2 teams, would have liked A or H but avoid Brazil and Belgium at least.

    OK, so in the England bracket....could have been worse, could have been better......let's hope we get some weaklings in 3 and 4.

    So what's the premise on how these groups are chosen? Two solid squads matched with two moderate to crappy squads?

    Seems sorta unfair to be grouped with Spain and Germany.

    Canada has a tough draw. Euro qualifier isn't too scary either

    So we got England, Iran, and Wales/Scotland/Ukraine. All in all, that's a draw you probably take if offered up front, though it's still definitely gonna have to earn our way out of that group.

    they group them by the current FIFA rankings. In sets of 8. The host goes in slot A1 regardless of how they rank. So you have Qatar that would be in group 4 or not even qualified that get put in group A. Germany is in the second group of 8 because they have been down recently. France and Netherlands seem to have decent draws, and not too upset with the US's draw.

    Right but we would never be MAJOR underdogs to anyone and should be favored in 2 of them....

    That's about as favorable of a draw for the USA as you can hope for. It would be a big disappointment if they don't get out of the group. Mexico got ****ed lol.

    Tricky group for Mexico but not impossible with Saudia Arabia in there
    lmao i guess the upcoming friendly with Argentina is getting cancelled


    No real death group but C and F seem tougher than the rest

    Looking ahead, the US group is matched up in the knockout stage with group A. Big prize in a softer matchup IMO if you can somehow win Group B

    I just watched highlights of Ghana vs USA while waiting on the presentation of the draw. I’m thankful to not play them again.
