Since the three-game Wild Card Series was introduced, the team that has won the first game has won each series — a perfect 8 for 8. (Only one series even went to a third game.)
haha ain’t that the truth. I love this time of year and hate it too. But I’d rather deal with the ups and downs of the playoffs then not be in the playoffs
Because Yordan is so large and quiet - most fans do not know how hard he works and that he has the heart of a lion. He is like Altuve, Bregman and Verlander - if there is anyway that Yordan can play - he is going to play. His competitiveness is one of the biggest secrets outside the Astros locker room. He also usually gives one or two big tongue lashings during the course of the season when the team isn't playing well.
last 30 games Detroit’s bullpen has a 2.86 ERA. If Detroit wins today and Skubal goes deep. Hinch will deploy a bullpen day and give the Astros a different look all game. Could be difficult. pressure will be on the team that is losing after 6 today.
I hate that losing today puts us in a win or go home situation tomorrow. But I’m not sure if we’d benefit from a bye. Just please win today!
Every playoff series should be seven games. The three game format after a season that lasts "forever" is ridiculous.
Because they didn’t care of business during the regular season and get one of the top two seeds. The alternative would be facing 2 of the top 5 in a three game series with KC (Ragans, Lugo)
You never know how players will react to postseason baseball. I look forward to watching Skuball pitch. Always love postseason pitching. Players have more nerves. Off with location etc. Can lead to bigger innings etc.
Ok. Time to power up the in-blowing fans. Sync up the buzzers. Activate the rumble strips under the batter's box. Make sure the centerfield camera batteries are charged. Doublecheck the scoreboard lights. Have an extra trash can and theragun handy just in case. Just win, baby!!
