Plenty of adjustments to make but this team turned in a good season

Feels bad for the orioles franchise. They actually played well until the end of the season and now their fans get to watch them get smacked by a struggling royals team.

We’ve been to 4 World Series in a span of 7 years. Teams like the orioles haven’t been there in more than 40 years.

With Yordan healthy it’s completely reasonable to expect the Astros to be competitive for another 3-5 years in his prime. Our farm team just won the minor leagues and we have a lot of pitching talent for trade. Dana Brown didn’t cause an injury ridden season.

You see the highlights of the game today? Just saw them myself. They had the bases loaded with 0 outs in the 5th and got nothing. Cowser swung at a ball that hit him lmao

I don't feel bad, they are an arrogant young team. Pulling for Joe Musgrove and Yuli to win it. But done watching baseball.

Weren’t they chasing the Yankees until almost mid September? The Yankees were also average in the fall. Sucks we probably had an easy road to the WS.

They were both playing poorly but in the Orioles case it was a ton of injuries.

The DPs and poor ABs by us were pathetic don’t get me wrong…

But damn this board would have really lost it’s collective minds if one of our guys swung at a ball that hit him with the bases loaded and got nothing

True but the golden age does seem to be fading, we’ve lost elite talents in Springer, Cole, Correa and soon Bregman and Tucker. All those guys were top 5 picks with the exception of Springer who was top 15. We’ve been replacing those players with lesser versions, Pena, Chas/Meyers and it’s worked for the most part but has been gradually less dominant. I have no doubt that the Astros will continue to put out a team good enough to win the division that has a chance to get hot and win it all, but not optimistic we can find/develop the bats to be what we were.

Crane should talk to his hometown cohort in Mrs. HannahMc to warrant the services & get slickNick to turn a 3-4 team trick that involves FV & Hader, Chas (always a StroBro), and Tucker for a: (1) 1B hitting 2-5 any given day / (2) UT producing IF/OF, (3) long / middle relief arm who has closer-type stuff…. + prospects. Hell we fleeced LAD for 4LV4REZ— if Dana cant come up with good acquisitions & promotions, then see ya!
Also, field offers on Meyers (even though he’s legitimately the best OF we have, just not offensively).
    Keep 2IN8LETON
Keep Dubon (this guy deserves more credit than is given)
    Sign Kikuchi ASAP
Do whatever it takes to bring Brent Strom back
Hire new analyrics/tech specialists and strength/conditioning coaches who understand the next best thing with regards to contact hitting, putting the ball in play (game theory) vs pitching matchups / ballparks.
FIX THE GD PAINT SCHEME & BATTERS EYE @ MMP… roof stays open unless rain or hurricane.

I am from Maryland and I have been listening to 2 of my best friends since childhood absolutely freaking out. Baltimore fans are really split on Hyde, the manager. Most of the people I talk to want him gone.

I looked at the numbers and hasn’t springer regressed significantly in Toronto? None of those guys has done anything significant since leaving but it sucks we don’t have the Yankees or the Dodgers payroll. Every season we have to finesse our way for more talent.

Cole won a Cy Young in 2023, but he got bit by the injury bug this year.

fair point on them not performing to the level of their contract, although Correa and Cole could argue they’re worth it. My concern is more so not having the assets or motivation to get huge talents, so many of the Orioles best players are high draft picks that came from the farm. As a good team, we can’t take that route. And the loss of draft picks certainly hasn’t helped
