Don’t want to forget we are in The middle of one of the most favorable parts of our schedule. We need to run it up now - as much as possible - end of the month gets harder. The last three months are a mixed bag.
Yep. Finishing June with a 5 game lead in the division should be the goal. They should win today then hope to go 3-2 in their next 5 series to close out the month. July features series against the Rockies, A’s, and Nats so it’s not exactly tough. Mariners, DBacks and Rangers aren’t looking too good. That series against the Dodgers is the only one they’ll for sure be underdogs. Guardians are middling but decent. Houston has 2 series against the Red Sox and 2 against the Orioles in August so it’d be great if they both ended up being deadline sellers. August also features series against the Rockies, Marlins, and Angels. Only tough ones are against the Yankees and Tigers. Yankees and Jays are the only surefire contenders they’ll face in September.
Aces High is my favorite. I remember the MTV days and the video for Run to the Hills. I'm sure you cant show that video anymore. Racial appropriation and all.
His current swing will never produce a lot of dongs. He's a line drive hitter. If they adjust it, it will be in the offseason. His launch angle is 7.6 where the average MLB launch angle is almost 13 and homerun hitters are higher than that. Considering he has elite bat speed, it would benefit him to make a JD Martinez adjustment
I rarely listen to sports events on video other than Football, although I enjoy Blum. I don’t need anyone to tell me what’s happening on the court or field so I either listen to music or watch TV while watching on my ipad. I like the crowd noise during football and feel the color analysts do a lot more with replays other than ooing and ahhing like they do in the NBA. The technology in baseball replaces what kind of pitch is being thrown. I haven’t listened to any sports on the radio for about 15 years.

This is why I like Kalas and Blum, they're fun and informative. This is also why I like to listen to the Stros radio broadcast every now and then, they just, like any radio broadcast, tell it like it's happening. Baseball is by far the best radio sport. Football, 2nd, Basketball a very distant 3rd
When I was in high school, way back in the early 90s, we didn't have cable so I would listen to all Rockets home games on the radio. Gene Peterson was awesome and I loved listening to the Rockets games. I'd often look through my basketball cards or draw or something while listening. I've only ever listened to football or baseball on the radio in while in the car. All of that said, I'm not sure how much basketball I could listen to now, on the radio, if I wasn't just in my car.
I listened to a multitude of Rockets games on the radio in my youth (backin it in backin it in, backin it in)...you can picture in your mind what's happening on a ballfield, but basketball takes some mental work and a very talented PbP guy. ...and I too, graduated HS in the early 90's, What a great time to be alive.
Sounds like you didn't have cable, like me. I listened to all the Astros and Rockets home games on the radio. Then, road games were on regular TV, channel 20. The only time I saw the Rockets in white uniforms was on the news during sports highlights.
