I am still processing the "historic" loss on Sunday night. This game is a microcosm of the season. Second half collapses are common with this team. Why? There could be a multiplicity of reasons, but high on the list is COACHING. Halftime is 15 min. Good coaches make as many adjustments as possible. Others don't do as much. The "complementary football" jargon is growing thin. Make adjustments. Stop running the same failed play over and over. Get creative. Stop running scared when you have a lead. Pile on; full speed ahead. You don't think players are smart enough to know they are not being put in the best place to win? Low morale players will stop playing hard because they know all their efforts are going to be undercut by stupid decisions.
CJ must start going "Brett Farve" who would reportedly go to the huddle and say things like "everybody go long." CJ strikes me as very cautious and respectful of authority. He needs to go off script. Audible more. Make called plays better by innovating. Show more passion. Cool is good, but not when the team is struggling. CJ, it is in you, do it.
