Maybe getting punked like this is just what the doctor ordered.

The team survived a lot of stupid s**t the first 2 weeks.

Then why are the rest of the guys staying down?! I don’t care if you wanna time it razor perfect. Once it happens you switch to the look at the ball method and don’t let it happen again. Holy hell that was so bad today. Childish. Undisciplined. Costly.

Tackles lined up a bit back off the line cannot see the football. Can't hear anything either unless the QB is loud as hell. It's all instinct and mental timing and maybe not sitting out the entire preseason would have helped?

The doctor doesn't order you to get sick, you're either sick or you're not. Houston has been sick for 60yrs; the Oilers and now the Texans.

    I've lived through
1)The Luv U Blu heart ache
    2)Stagger Lee
    3)35-3 against Buffalo
4)Matt Schaub turning into the pick 6 king
    5)DW4's Bissonnett massages

I surely thought THIS TIME was it! Demeco coming back, lucking into Stroud and now getting Diggs BUT it's the same ole Houston team, be it Oilers or Texans. Different organization but same results; play conservative enough to win at home and get beat on the road.

Demeco is Bill O'Brien all over again! Good teacher but conservative and stubborn to a fault. A team with this much talent should never lose like that! You can't tell me KC gets beat like that?

So, it's either you have it or you don't, you're sick or you're, not you're a contender or a pretender and after all these yrs, I know what I see.....A PRETENDER.

It is my understanding that the lineup, like the wideouts, can ask the refs if they are on the line pre-snap.
This is easy to address. If the league is making this point of emphasis, then sort it out.

I made that mistake once (once!) in HS as a freshman, I was obviously, egregiously off the line as a wide out WR.

I got read the riot act by a coach between plays "did you not look at the blank blank blank ref standing 5 feet from you?"

Dam......that was a butt whooping and I did not see that coming. I have never been a Tunsil fan from a leadership perspective, I hate that he doesn't practice FT in training camp yet he is a Captain, when he got paid, he said he wanted to be a leader yet he didn't show it in training camp, he needs to step up and show why he is a leader, take ownership and right the ship. This could be our come to JESUS moment with the O Line.......we cannot live in 3rd and 10+ all day. Let's see how the Texans respond, but this felt like the Raven`s playoff game all over again, out played and out coached in EVERY aspect of the game. It`s early and we dont want to peak until much later........on a side note, IMO there is a cause and effect of not playing in the pre season, there is no cohesiveness because you can only simulate game time situations in a real game.

Cold Take, if Tunsil doesn't turn this around, I think our LT of the future is in the draft or Blake Fisher will start earlier then we wanted

It's an overreaction Monday so let's get this out of our system and move on tomorrow

Gotta give it up to Jonathan Greenard. Dude really wrecked us yesterday. All the ex Texans played well. Maybe we should have paid JG and Cashman after all. Shout out to Brian Flores too that guy also had some extra motivation going against the team that he felt passed on him because of his lawsuit vs the NFL. It is what it is. Tip the hat and move along. The Vikes are for real.

Nah. Blake and JG fit way better into Flores 3-4 system than what Demeco wants out of the D line. Cashman has a history of injuries so they went with Aziz. They may have kept him of not for the injuries. Happy for all our guys from last year tho. They were part of the most memorable season I’ve had with the Texans.

edit: I wanna say that Flores doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to unlock a players potential. He’s always been a guy that maintains excellence and schemes well. Cashman, JG and Van Ginkel were all free agents that were unlocked by Demeco and Vic Fangio. He’s just taking a finished product and making sure they sustain their unlocked performance.

were they too expensive? or did the texans not believe in them?

Texans def should have resigned JG especially since him and CJ are close.

JG had a great 2021 season. He wasnt unlocked by anyone. He is a great pass rusher and 4/76 was good value. I LOVE the dual threat aspect of having Hunter and Will on the edge though. JG was a little soft in the run game. Cashman was a beneficiary of Linbacker U here I might agree. It would be nice to have more than 2 decent linebackers that are healthy right now though. We're having to run 4-2-5 out of necessity.

Flores will make a fine coach one day. His success will be determined upon whom he entrusts with his offense. His defenses are always top notch.

    Update: same ol' Texans smh.

Not sure what's worse, our offense being so anemic despite Stroud and three good to great receivers, or the defense and pass rush being a total nonfactor despite the talent on that end.
