I was anticipating having to listen to another game today, but Houston is scheduled to be shown on the NYC CBS affiliate which I can get.
Much needed rest day for Nico. Kirk can line up wide, far far away from the slot. Noel and Berrios can split the slot snaps.
Damn, sounds like the Texans are leaning towards resting some stars in week 18. Might still work given the state of the competition, but I would have preferred maximizing chances for the win in week 18 given seeding possibilities
SE Texas. Too far away to get Houston signals and too close to be considered an out of Market location. It's like the Donut hole of hell.
Win and Jags loss gives Texans the division, granted Jags are home to Tennessee. If Jags win, Texans win gives Texans the 5-seed, a road playoff game vs AFC North champ, and home field in later rounds vs the likes of Buffalo and the Chargers should such matchups manifest (decent chance Buffalo advances from 6, 7 seeds). Losing could drop Texans to 6 or 7 seeds, 6-seed a likely road game at Jax.
I don’t either, but I do like the idea of a home game vs Bills in later rounds. Comes down to who you think advances. I could make a pretty good argument that all (3) AFC wild cards (potentially HOU, BUFF, CHARGERS) will beat NE/DEN, JAX, BALT/PITT in Rd 1 which would set up 2nd Rd: 7-seed at 1-seed, 6-seed at 5-seed. If the 7-seed loses RD 1 & 5 and 6 seeds win, that could set up a Texans home AFC Championship game (most likely vs Buffalo)
If we're worried about Baltimore.... who might not even make the playoffs at all, we should be worried about everyone. The AFC North winner will be the worst team in the playoffs no matter who it is. That's the game we want.
You said local NY City station I'm confused. I'm in Albany thought you might be in my area Nah Bryant. But where do you live?
Agree with those of you thinking that resting people might be a bad idea here, but maybe they're resting people who are pretty banged up. And yes, hey, I will be visiting this game thread. [clown emoji]
