Dislocated knee cap was a relatively quick fix; torn ACL, different story. Really sad and disappointing.

Agreed, but I dont think Slowik has forgotten how to coach in a years time.

He hasn’t forgotten how to do the one scheme he knows how to do. What is becoming clear is that he cannot adapt to the personnel he has.

He is a mechanic, not an engineer. He can assemble and maintain things that other people design.

    No, of course not

Run up the middle +4, WR screen left -2, sweep run wide right +1, punt on 4th and 7

The personnel he has isn't good enough. There's a reason they picked up Dionte Johnson on the WW yesterday. Their TE's also suck, you can't run a successful WCO with TE's that can't block.

Not saying Slowik hasn't made mistakes or can't improve. Guess what, if they replace Slowik after this year and when the Texans lose their first game next year fans will be complaining about the new OC. It's a Texans tradition.

This is exactly my point. He doesn’t or, more likely, cannot adapt to his personnel. That is what I mean by mechanic - give him the blueprint and the right tools and he’ll execute fine. But he’s not an engineer - he can’t make the blueprints or invent new tools.

You can't fix a car when all you have are hammers. Could he do better, yes but this offense talent wise is very flawed. Plus you've got the fact that neither Slowik or Stroud are as good as they were last year.
