Regardless of the reason I’m not exactly worried about CJ long term. He’s a franchise QB and he’ll continue to ascend into elite status.
This is true. DFW people don't really care about the Texans at all. Astros would trigger them (not anymore though) but not Texans or even Rockets.
I agree the Defense was bad... But they have made adjustments and even with the Cowboys game you can see the D make adjustments at halftime.... I wish i could say the same with the offense. We can have all the people we want coming back, but it doesn't make a difference if Bobby doesn't adjust. Even with Dallas and all the starters they have missing are playing hurt, the offense struggled and that's not a good sign. T_Man
Just got back from Dallas. This is our 3rd straight year going to a Cowboys home game. Usually their crowd is insanely loud, boisterous and over-the-top. I despise the Cowboys more than any team in the NFL. It feels dirty to be in a stadium full of their fans. Still, I enjoy their enthusiasm and marvel at it. Seriously. Besides the Browns playoff game, NRG Stadium is a library compared to Jerry's World. Last night when the scoreboard and music told fans to "Get Loud!", most of them didn't. It was so pathetic. Those people know their team is junk and the players are just going through the motions. I don't feel sorry for them at all because of how obnoxious and cocky they can be. Not sure if the TV cameras showed it, but there was a lot red and blue in the building. (The guy in front of us was wearing a Columbia Blue Warren Moon jersey). At times you couldn't tell who the home team was. Houston represented itself very well. I wish the Texans had played better, but a win is a win. Hopefully they win the next 3 and reach 10-4. Then it really gets hard.
I really disagree with your assessment of that stadium. It’s like an airplane hanger and I don’t feel like it’s a loud, intimidating as many others, including NRG when it’s popping. I agree that opposing fans that take over the place tend to make it louder, which is why Romo and others have had to go silent count at home on various occasions.
The Cowboys edge rusher, who hosts a weekly podcast “The Edge with Micah Parsons”, talked on Wednesday’s episode about some of the Texans players' celebrations. Dalton Schultz, who played five seasons for the Cowboys before signing with the Texans as a free agent in 2023, had fun with the rivalry Tuesday morning when he mimicked a TikTok trend, pouring milk into two clear mugs of coffee to reveal a hidden message: “The Houston Texans are the best team in Texas!” Parsons, who is close friends with Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud and spent a bulk of the offseason hyping up the in-state showdown, called Schultz, who had five catches for 33 yards in the win, “a petty little sidebar,” adding, “I’m like, what the hell?” As for the truthfulness of the message on the coffee mugs, Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, who was on the show with his teammate said, “No chance.” Parsons also took notice of Joe Mixon’s celebrations on all three of his touchdowns, including a “too small” gesture at Cowboys cornerback Josh Butler as he crossed the goal line and a spanking motion after the final touchdown, which Parsons said was “trying to run up the score.” Parsons even brought up a 2022 game when the Cowboys beat Mixon’s Bengals when Dallas had Cooper Rush starting at quarterback in place of an injured Dak Prescott, which also was the case Monday. “It’s kind of funny how people kind of forget what we did to them. And now, I know it’s right now, but nah, I didn’t forget,” Parsons said. Parsons also vowed to get revenge on Mixon and the Texans for all the laughing they’re doing at the moment. “As we say, laugh now, cry later,” Parsons said. “We’re going to get that one back in blood.” Parsons is 1-1 in his career against the Texans, but he made sure to bring up the career record for the two teams. “Congrats to the Texans, man,” he said. “They won the Texas Bowl, but all-time, they’re 3-4 against us. We know in our minds we’re the real team in Texas. You know what I’m saying?” Parsons and Diggs were complimentary of the Texans, although neither were willing to say they were currently contenders in the AFC. “They are a good team, but I don’t know if they’re great just yet,” Parsons said. “They are a really good team. You look at some of the wins and they should have beat the Lions. They jumped on that undefeated Bills team. So, a lot of these games, they were in those games, but they lost those games. I think they’re on their way to being a great team. I think they will become contenders.” “They got a lot of talent,” Diggs said. “That defense is tough, too. That defense is really tough. C.J., of course. Nico (Collins), a baller. Tank (Dell), a baller. Joe Mixon, running. They’ve got a lot of good young players, for sure.”
Parsons won’t even be a cowgirl the next time they play the Texans, how the hell is he gonna “get that back in blood”? I get it, I’d say the same thing (I guess) if I spent the entire offseason living it up with the opposing teams golden child, but still funny to listen to.
I think it’s just podcast talk. I agree he won’t be in Dallas next time we meet but he has to stir something up for views. I don’t blame him. If a Vikings player took shots at us similar to Schultz, we’d have a player return fire at some point. Whether they believe it or not, it makes for good chaos.
The Texans, literally, made Dak cry. It's really pathetic that those over-rated bums are desperately trying to live off events that occurred long before either of their dumb asses were even born. You love to see it. https://www.nfl.com/news/dak-presco...ly-been-as-tough-of-a-season-as-i-ve-ever-had Hate to break it to you, Arlington. The. "star". doesn't. mean. ****.
Tangentially, Giants cut Daniel Jones... After Jones clears waivers (& he will), Jerruh / Cowboiz picks up Jones to play against... checks notes... the Giants (Nov. 28) Would be such a Jerruh thing to do... lol
