I don't think AR15 is trash or garbage, he's probably going to be a really good QB in this league for as long as he remains healthy but is he going to be elite? Not without being able to hit, as someone else said, 'casual' throws. He left a lot of INTs on the field on Sunday and I can't see the Colts winning many games on offense with how they played as teams will just shell up and play zone and will find their ways into INTs and stops sometimes even on accident. Yes, every now and then they'll get hit by a deep bomb but I think any team will live with that if they are taking away everything else.

But I do think he's going to be a good QB, make pro-bowls, get accolades, all that, and he's probably good enough to win a superbowl with tbh but with the caveat that he's going to need a good defense to make up for his bad games. Which, to be fair, is true of like maybe 95% of QBs in the league.

I just don't think he can be elite, in that, a guy like Rogers, or Brady, or Manning, or Mahomes, guys who could win superbowls even with a garbage defense because they are going to put up points regardless.

Yes, but you are already throwing him in a category of elite players when he threw more interception worthy passes in that area then not.

He has a LONG way to develop if he's going to get in to that Josh Allen territory and the odds certainly aren't in his favor.

That is fantastic but it seemed like the pass protection was subpar. Perhaps it was the blitzing.

They were running blitz, plus stunting our tackles to create free rush vs our TE's and RB's.

I have not made any claim about AR being elite. Lets relax. He does some things on the field that leaves guys who have watched football a long time giggling. Watch JT break him down in his QB school video - dude was like a schoolgirl. The kid is 21 and has played FIVE professional games and only one season as a starting college QB. I think some of you guys who are already flushing him down the toilet are too quick to dismiss him. I love the sport and can admire good players everywhere and the NFL has never seen a guy like AR behind center. Not ideal that he just so happens to be in our division. I still think we outclass the Colts, but if they start to surround 5 with world class talent I'll be perturbed.

Interesting position to take after 5 professional games. I hope you're right!

Absolutely and those 7 to 10 games a year he hits enough bombs they might win some of them.

Hard to win 12-14 games with no intermediate and short passing game.

In the red zone he will largely be stuck with his legs which can be handled by a defense.

He's already run for 3TDs against us in 2 games! If it's so easy to stop his legs in the red zone why cant we do it? It was annoying watching him leak out for first downs nevermind the designed runs they call. 9 yards per carry is troubling when considering future contests.

I agree with all of you guys saying he wont reach the pinnacle of the sport without an in between game. All Im saying is that its WAY too early to say he wont be this or that. If the guy is scraping out 9 throws and has his team within a score of a win its concerning for me regardless of all the fluff on "why" it was close to begin with.

I don't know how they win 10 games relying on deep balls and his legs.

They get up a lead and can't sustain drives to eat clock. He's going to start getting boxes stacked and Taylor will pay the price.

They will scheme differently and cover passing threats differently over time as their play calling relies more and more on it.

I'd go man on the outside and play no safeties inside the 10. Have some bigger personnel contain him. Maybe blitz Pitre as a nickle to slow him down in the backfield enough for help. I don't see Pitre taking him down on his own.

AR has no touch on the ball to hit a wr on a crossing route in the back of the endzone...

It sounds so easy “have bigger guys contain him” I’m not sure you guys fully understand what 6’4 245 4.4 looks like. RPO with this guy is a freaking nightmare on goal to go. Our best chance would be with an elite MLB. Christian Harris maybe.

There will be some teeth gnashing matchups in our future. It’s the nature of the divisional beast, but I think AR has more than you guys give him credit for and it sucks because I was hoping to dad dick Indy for a few years.

You're pretending we haven't seen this before... Cam Newton had much better accuracy but could do what AR does on the ground.

He's not coming close to Cam....

He's good enough to win 6-9 games a year with. How is less than 50% passing going to translate for the playoffs?

12 games in college with 15 passing attempts or more. He had 5 of them with 60% completion % or better. Only 3 of those 5 had more than 60%.

He has had 3 games with the colts with 15 attempts. He has thrown better than 60% in one of them.

Big QBs who can't beat you with their arm become tight ends. See Logan Thomas and Taysom Hill.

If you're saying Cam Newton threw a more catchable ball I would agree. He knew how to take off speed when necessary plus he was more durable early, but lets not act like the NFL had Cam figured out or dual threat QBs in general. Its still an issue to this day.

As far as speed/athleticism its not even close. AR tested better in everything - vertical, broad jump, 10/20 yard splits. ARs hands are even bigger. Only thing Cam had over AR was arm length.

You're pretty dug in so as a Texan fan I'll hope your analyst ability is correct (I dont think it is, but we will get a chance to watch it unfold in real time).
