My bad I didn't see this dialogue after my post and it's reply. But ya I have to apologize for my most recent posts, I've had to rush a lot of em with the "new" job I have. But anyway now that that is cleared up, any thoughts on him. I mean at best I could see him as a Michael Clayton was to Sammy Bradford till he was injured last year, ya know? Any thoughts?
I'm thinking about picking up Torrey Smith or Nate Washington. Smith had a great game, but is injured (hamstring) and will see less time once Evans is back (although I do think he'll start seeing more game time after last game). Britt is done for the season at Tenn, so Washington will get more looks. But, he will also be the main focus of the def, and is older than Smith... My waiver position is like 6 or 7, so chances are one of them will be gone, if not both. Which should I try and pick up first?
I think he is worth a pickup in a PPR, but otherwise I don't see him sustaining his production. Harvin will eventually start taking away some of those targets. Didn't see if you mentioned it, who would you drop?
No worries. I think Jenkins is worth a look depending on who you were going to drop. I'm deep in RBs so I'm planning to drop Starks for 1) Washington or 2) Torrey Smith. If I don't get either, I'd look at Jenkins.
To answer both you guys (mickey & 3814) I have quite a few low level players/fillers to choose from: Roy Williams, Jerome Simpson, Browns D, or even Kyle Orton. I have a ton of depth at RB (Turner, Best, Bradshaw, Greene, & Tolbert) and I'm also thinking about picking up Kendall Hunter since we all know good and well Gore is going down at some point and time this season. I'm also putting in a claim for Victor Cruz which I shoulda done last week instead of playing Simpson. Doh!
Should I pick up Cruz? how is the situation with Giants receivers? last week I picked up Decker, but I dont think it was a good move.
Nate Washington is almost certain to be the #1 waiver wire target this week, and for good reason. He already was getting a decent number of targets before Britt went down, and now should be considered a weekly starter unless you've got two studs on your team. Don't worry about defensive attention -- believe me, DCs are far more concerned about trying to stop Chris Johnson than anybody else on that offense. I like Smith's upside but this could be a flash in the pan until Lee Evans returns, so I'm less enamored with him.
I think he's still a good pick up, he was already being inserted as the slot receiver in their trips sets, he may not get as many looks as he did this past week if Manningham returns from the concussion but he should be a good play in PPR leagues. Somehow ALL my waiver pick ups went thru, so now I have Mike Jenkins (WR), Torrey Smith, Victor Cruz and Kendall Hunter on my bench.
Ugh. I'd grudgingly choose Hasselbeck, but I don't even feel good about that matchup. Sanchez actually has by far the most favorable matchup of the three, but he is as unstable as water sometimes.
I need to see more from Cook to believe. Greg Olsen is a big target for Newton in the red zone so I like him better.
Victor Cruz is a stud. He's fast, shifty, runs nice routes and has good hands. Even if Manningham comes back at full strength he's still going to produce. In the last few years the Giants have had 3 productive WR's in Nicks, Manningham and Smith so there's certainly room for Cruz with Smith out. Besides I think Cruz is better than Manningham (even at full strength) and has a chance to be a solid WR2 for the Giants and a good WR3 play every week in FF.
I'm about to drop Dexter McClusters for a bye week kicker. Dan Bailey. Let me explain. In our league free agents are awarded to the team that bids the most. Teams are allowed 1000 for the whole year. I've already spend over 800 of my 1000 on D.Moore, David Nelson and Fred Davis. I am hoping that since dan bailey isn't playing this week that I can pick him up for cheap. Whereas if I wait a week, I most assuredly won't get him. This means that I have to carry 2 kickers for the week, and I am sacrificing Mcclusters.
